All right, I will add my 2 cents. in again, and I don't own either of them, so take this for what it is worth, I traded in a Kubota B7500DT for and L3400HST. mostly to get the hydro, but tell you what, I really appreciate the larger frame tractor, It can lift, push and grunt way more than the little guy. Not saying I did not get a lot of good service out of the B7500, but the L3400 is just so much more fun. Oh sure there are a few times maybe the B7500 would have fit better but most of the time. the L3400 is way better. I am quite sure with the ROPS down your 27 will fit just fine. thru that 84 inch opening. I would get the 27 Again I am no Kioti expert..Good Luck.

I have the Bobcat version of the 27 (225) and only 5 acres 1/2 is wooded. For 2 years I was saving and planning on a 122 (ck20) because that was bigger than old Kubota and all I needed plus I have a width constrant getting through a couple gates. When it came time to buy I noticed the same thing for a little more I could so much more in features - telescoping 3 pt arms, 3 speed ranges, more operator room, no fuel tank behind the seat to reach over. Got the 225 with R1 Ag tires that took the width down close to 122 with R4s and still use all the implements I had with the B8200 Kubota.
of course now that I have had it a few months I have found uses for it that I still could have done with the 122 but would be working it to the max.

Only downside I have is getting some of those jobs done too fast, not enough seat time.

Believe it or not, up here in the great white north I was quoted more for the Cat 122(ck20) than the Kioti Ck27. What gives?
I do like the Cat paint better for sure. :)

Thanks guys. :)

I was under the impression the cat was the exact copy only different paint and loader. Maybe I'm wrong. Again. :)

Common guys. Talk me into the 27. Lol
I respect and appreciate the advise guys. Really. I am just a "Bigger is better" type of guy. I'm a big fat bastard too and the 27 fits me better.

Alright, we were just trying to be nice and reasonable but you asked for it: the only tractor that will truly satisfy you is a DK40se. Everything smaller is for wimps with peanut sized testicles. 2700lbs of loader lift is better than a mouthful of Viagra. Four cylinders of diesel goodness combined with an operator station that would satisfy an NFL lineman. You sit about 18 inches higher than in a shrimpy CK for a truly commanding view of your 0.5 acre estate. Manuverability is not an issue as you can lift and move anything in your way.

I used to own a CK20 which I thought was a truly wonderful tractor on 5 acres but it wasn't until I traded up to the DK40se that I noticed the new bulge in my pants and enhanced virility. Small may be beautiful but larger is muy macho. I have to beat the ladies off with a stick while mounted on my trusty DK.

By the way, I have a hard time believing whoever told you the CK20 cannot pull a subsoiler. Properly ballasted in four wheel assist it is a brute in low range. You can also get a QA attach for the KL120. I had one.

Now you are talking! Instead of "if something gets in my way I go 'round it" It's "if something gets in my way I destroy it..Yah":):)

Thanks guys. You are right. I will price out the DK40 today. That really is the best machine for me :)

And if that doesn't work out, rethink the CK 20. Great, great machine for just about any thing under 4-5 acres. It is real easy to fall prey to the bigger is better argument so it is sometimes necessary to distance oneself from the showroom and well intentioned advice and just think through your real needs. Remember too that a normal male can put out about 0.5 horsepower while working. Even a twenty HP tractor is capable of accomplishing a huge amount of work. Don't get bamboozled by more more more arguments.

Great advice Island. Way too, any people have the more is better thought process.

We have. 5 acres and I can't imagine anything over a ck20.

I'm just looking at the specs here. Ck27 thru 35 all have the same dimensions. Weird. It shows the 35 @ about 50 lbs lighter than the 27. What's up with that?
With ROPS down, I won't have any problem getting in a 7' high door will I?

Thanks.

Even my CK-20 needs the rops down to get into a garage with a seven foot door,. But it just fits in a seven footer if the backhoe is on because it is so close to fitting w/o backhoe that when equipped with one it squats enough to clear the door. I have never regretted buying the CK-20 instead of it's bigger brother the CK 27. My property is not as open as you describe yours so the tight turning and manueverabity of the CK-20 comes in mighty handy. I believe that 22 h,p ck20 will run longer than that CK 27 on a five gallon can of fuel. Buy the 27 if you have a hankering to because you know best.

Awesome pictures. Specially the logs :)
The 20 is a sweet machine for sure. No doubts here. I just have blinders on when it comes to the 27.
More hp, more weight. I love the thought of the QA bucket and a few other things that have me going to that machine.
Also, I currently don't have a trailer to move the machine but I see many uses for it at the family cottage.
Cost of fuel does not affect my decision. This machine may get 50 hrs a year. Fuel cost will be a non issue.
