.22 LR Ammunition - any updates on availability?

Simply giving different options for people. If you went to either of those web sites you will see where you can buy not only 22 LR but other types of rounds. Ammo seek also shows you places to get primers. They are out there. You just need to know where to look. Just trying to help.

I was just funnin" .22 LR primers? Who would fall for that? THEY ARE NOT OUT THERE! No matter how many web sites one might visit.

I do use ammoseek, And get multiple advertisements from three of my favorite ammo venders almost every day. Prices are going down! Must be "post election let down" ;-)

I reload .308W, because that round is never "cheap" .55c every time it goes bang. ;-) Depending on bullets, reloading can almost cut that in half. (cheap bullets ;-)

But .22 LR? it's hard to beat a nickle per round right out of the box. I would never "reload" that round. Heck, I pay a nickle a round for air gun pellets ;-) It hurts, but some are worth it. ;-)

.22LR (or short for that matter) CAN be reloaded. but the process isn't pretty. But you can do it.

You can roll all you like. But .22LR and .22 Short can be reloaded. The process isn't pretty, but it can be done.

I rarely hunt with my .22s. I mostly just plink. Long range plinking. My Remington 513s is currently sighted in at about 170 yards with a simple 4x Leopold (silly, I know, but really fun). The point in saying this is that neither paying 10 cents a round or reloading them would be worth my while. To me that's what the whole point of .22 has always been. Cheap fun.

That sounds like fun!

Reloading .22 would be a last ditch put food on the table type of thing. I don't think too many people are going to do that. The wife and I used to often two "bricks" down to our home range; one for her and one for me.. We would go thru them all most sessions. We sure had a lot of fun though.

Academy in my area finally had 525 bricks of 22LR golden bullets all I wanted to buy for about $28 a box. Supply seems to be catching up to demand. Even found 22 magnum for about $15 per box of 50.

Same here. I refuse to buy those anymore. Too many slow fires and misfires in my rimfires. We just buy the Federal bulk packs now for the cheapie plinkers, as they seem to shoot well in all our guns.

I found that out very quickly. Ready to give my hardly dented box of 525 away in a two for one deal. Lots of failure to load. Hoping it isn't my new Ruger. Need to try some different ammo. Hearing CCI is good.
