.22 LR Ammunition - any updates on availability?

Target sports usa is out of Winchester 555's (but list them for 5 cents a round) also out of 333's (that they sell for 6 cents a round) they do have the 222's but at $20 a box that's 9 cents a round for the same stuff.

Always pays to shop around, just compare apples to apples. Everyone's pricing and availability is different. One company may have the best deal on brand A, but not on brand B or C.

If you have three types of ammo you want to buy, and want the best deal delivered to your door....good chance that you are gonna be buying from 3 different places.

Do not have the details handy but in news here they were closing several stores as they were filing bankruptcy. Store near me is not on the close list so have been told.

Well I was told yesterday our Gander Mountain has signage up they are closing. Also if you have a gift card with them only good through the 18th of May, this month. No on line orders. I did not buy a lot there but like them. We have a Bass Pro a few miles further away but Gander did not feel so rushed there to make a decision.

There seems to be a lot of variation in the stories making the rounds over the weekend, from filing bankruptcy and closing all stores to being bought out by Camping World and reopening under their name. I have no idea what's actually happening, and frankly I don't really care. The only thing I've ever bought in our local store is a couple of game cameras that were on sale. Since their gun and ammo prices are nothing to write home about, I have little use for them, whatever the name on the building.

.22 is not available at my local walmart, but .17HMR and .17WSM is. Which I think both are a superior round, as I have 2 rifles in .17HMR, and one in .17WSM. The WSM is one hot little super sonic round!!!

But anyways, I love .22 as well and I buy most of my .22 ammo needs from Academy, no shipping to the Communist state of Ca, so I have it shipped for free to my uncle in Washington. He brings it down twice a year for me when he comes to visit.

It is available locally sometimes for like mentioned 10 cent a round. no thank you.

Late comer to this thread. I've had a pretty huge stash of .22 ammo for years but it is dwindling down. I still have 500 rounds of various standard velocity match stuff for serious shooting but I'm out of the junk (Wildcat, Stinger, CCC, etc). I love sitting on my front porch and shooting down towards my pond at clay pigeons and stuff that I set out about 150 yards away or at flotsam out on the pond at about 200 yards. I go through a lot of ammo like this. So I'm going to need to stock up again soon on the cheap stuff. Can't see spending 10 cents a round.

Bought 200 rds today at Wal-Mart. Yep Wally World, In Ozark. Still none in Branson, and may never be again. Not a really good price at $7.36 per box of 100, but I have seen worse. I was just so overjoyed to see a .22 round in a Wal-Mart, I felt compelled to buy some.. I haven't seen a .22 round in a Wal-Mart anywhere near here in about 4 1/2 years. Nearly the same price as the above Aquila when you count in the shipping.
