220 volt 30 air compressor 10 CFM

Does anyone on this forum have knowledge of good portable 30 gallon air compressor that would make a good shop air compressor. I had to move a 60 gallon air compressor sometime ago and what a job. I was by myself for the most part and almost lost it on the shop floor. I have never forgotten that experience. I need to get one for air to run a few air tools and to keep mower tires aired up and just doing maintenance to small equipment weedeater, chainsaw etc.. Is there anything like this out there besides these over weight monsters that can break your back moving them

I think you will have a hard time getting the 10CFM out of one. I bought the one at below at Lowes for my house garage since I have a 80 in the barn, and it works good for most house applications that don't require a constant draw. Very quite but about 5CFM.

I used to have a 60 gallon Devilbus in my shop before I moved. Since I switched over to mostly all Dewalt battery tools the compressor was hardly used.

Now I have a nice Dewalt 110V compressor (20 gallon) on wheels for cleaning and airing tires. Been 5yrs and dont miss the big one.

I looked long and hard for a portable with 10 CFM and could not. To maintain 10CFM is a feet in itself, then add portability that is another feet in itself. That was 10 years ago-wondering if new tech has come out since.

My brother has had this unit for about 1 1/2 yrs... Campbell Hausfeld Portable Electric Air Compressor Model# VT6271

He has been happy with it & it gets pretty good reviews... he needed something portable also & looked around for awhile prior to his purchase... Not super cheap but I think it checks all the boxes.

Only a BIG one works for sand blasting!
I have a 175 psi 20 cuft. pressure lubed, Quincy 2 stage, with 80 gal. tank, and it works somewhat hard when blasting.
Anything smaller would hardly work at all for blasting.

I just moved from a 20 gal 5.7 cfm to a Dewalt 60 gal 10 cfm. I am getting old and dragging out a 20 gal just to air up a tire is getting old. TSC had a black Friday sale on air compressors so I bought one. I installed a 75 foot 3/8 inch air hose on a reel also bought at TSC. It is so much easier now to air a tire up. I just pull the air hose out and open the air compressor valve. Painting is better too as I have more air. The reel was mounted at the front of my garage for easy access. The compressor is mounted way away and connected to the hose reel with a 1/2 inch line.

I did some sand blasting on an old plow I bought with fine sand. It was an old Sears sand blaster which only kind of works with fine sand I bought in the 1970s, I don't remember the exact year. My 60 gal air compressor ran non-stop the whole time. I don't think you can buy a big enough air compressor for sand blasting.

In the old days I had an American made 2 stage air compressor and it ran non-stop sand blasting. It was from an old gas station from the 1950s I bought used. I sure wish I still had it. The 1 problem I had was it was a lay down unit and it took a lot of room up. The air compressor I have now is a stand up which takes a lot less room.

The difference between 30 gal and 60 gal is not much space wise. The 60 gal is just not mobile.

Yep, the reason I stepped up from a 20gal 220v compressor to a 60gal. Wanted to get a two stage but couldn't justify the cost for the occasional sand blasting job. If it were a regular part of my shop needs, no question. The less amount of cycling of the compressor is nice on the ears as well. I mounted my 60gal vertical on a homemade dolly/swivel casters and it is easy to scoot around for cleaning, etc. Otherwise is stays put.

I can't find it now for sale online but bought a Craftsman Professional 110/220v horizontal 2 cylinder belt drive. It's 2HP and up to 8.5scfm, 25 gallon. It has two tires on one end and a handle on the other. It's black with a gold lettered sticker. Much more quiet than the direct drive 110 dollar junker I have at my property.

When I sand blast (usually in warm weather) I place a separate box fan where it will blow directly on the compressor.
I only blast very rarely, but it is hard use on most any compressor, except for the trailer type commercial units.
