220 volt 30 air compressor 10 CFM

I am going to wait for cheaper scroll compressors. EASTWOOD has one out that is around 1500 and i think we will see more of them at lower price points. Way more performance over reciprocating. kludging along with a 30 gal husky oil less that was free for now.

Rolair is also another good brand.

When did Emglo become Jenny? I never heard about this. My wheelbarrow Emglo is over 20 years old and going strong. It's my workshop compressor that I used to use on jobs, but finally just got tired of getting it into the back of my truck, so I started buying small, portable compressors. I started out with the DeWalt because it was supposed to have been built by Emglo, butt just painted yellow. First one didn't work at all, and the second lasted almost one day, so I gave up on them. I tried Hitachi, Porter Cable and Ingersol Rand with poor results. They all lasted a year or two, but then fell apart.

When building my gazebo, I was using a small Honda generator that only put out 13 amps, and needed a compressor that drew less then that amount. Lowes had a Bostik air compressor that used 11 amps, so I gave it a try. It's been awesome. I've been using it on jobs for the last 7 years and it's still going strong. I never through a breaker in clients houses, and it has plenty of power for all my air tools and texture gun for spraying walls. It's light, easy to carry and easy to put on a shelf when I don't need it. It does not produce 10CFM, but it will get up to 110 psi and if I needed to run an impact wrench off of it, I would do so knowing that I had to wait for the pressure to build up between uses.

All I did was Google Emglo and Jenny Compressors popped up. I couldn’t find new Emglos......but I didn’t spend a lot of time looking.

^^^ Yep sistering two smaller units and running the next size up air hose worked for me.

Hi Ultrarunner, I'd like to see a picture of a sistered set-up. I'm interested in gaining more air power, don't have 210 voltage in my garage, but have lots of 120 receptacles. I just can't seem to grasp an idea of how it's done. I don't think you mean electrically, but rather physically and that's what is not clear in my head. If possible could you either post a picture or walk me through it step by step? Appreciate the advice. Greg

The compressors have multiple air quick connects making it easy to attach/plug in an extra air hose linking the two.

If not a simple 1/2 inch pipe threaded T would do the same.

The connection is through the air line only.

One thing to note is the compressors do not share a electric circuit.

I have 35 year old Emglo and zero problems...

My newer units are Rolair

Do you mean you have lots of 120v circuits or just a lot of receptacles on one circuit. Multiple a/c kicking on, running at the same time could be a problem if not on separate circuits.

Abundance of 20 amp circuits.

The way the shop is wired most of the duplex receptacles share neutral but each outlet is wired independently to one side of a tandem 20 amp circuit breaker

This provides two 20 amp circuits at 120v or the option to combine and have a single 240v receptacle...

Last I heard, someone like, Campbell Hausfeld bought Emglo and cheapoed them...

I have an old Emglo compressor, and it's very high quality...

IF, you have an old Emglo, KEEP IT!

ultra, I wasn't worried about you... directed toward Gregster.

Looks like a beast!

Only have two Emglo... only downside is they are heavy to lug around.

I wasn't sure how the garage shop was wired so one of the first things I did was map the circuits... it is nice it is all in emt conduit.

If it is all in conduit can't you change a circuit over to 220v? Seems like it would be easy.

My brother has had this unit for about 1 1/2 yrs... Campbell Hausfeld Portable Electric Air Compressor Model# VT6271 dictcg

have been using this same 220v model for several yrs now. mounted wheels on front, so it's very easily rolled around. 11 cfm max. very pleased, ideal shop model, handles all my impact wrench, etc needs perfectly. & far more mobile than upright tank styles.
for portable construction site air tool needs, lots to choose from, but as mentioned, you'll sacrifice output

20 gallon 13.7CFM and it is portable

California Air Tools compressors are very low CFM units.
Suitable for small pneumatic tools only.

They also have 4 hp 220v units spec'd at 12.80 CFM @ 40 PSI and 10.60 CFM @ 90 PSI but looks like the 220v offerings don't have wheels.

Do you really have a lot of 220v plugs around to be able to move a 220v air compressor? I don't. I install 220v plugs where I need them. And my 220v plugs are different. Some run my welder 50 amp. Some run my air compressor 20 amp. Some run my table saw 30 amp.

If you are going to use extension cords wouldn't it be easier to add more air hose than electric cord?

cheaper to buy battery tools than run air hose and a big compressor - but if needed run hose not move compressor around

Ultrarunner, Thanks for the clearer picture. Just air-line the tanks together and that will equal to more air power? or just a larger supply of air? Still don't see how that provides any more line pressure, rather just a longer time before unit kicks on to charge back up.

Dragon, I have quite a few available receptacles but yes they are on the same circuit. I believe that two 110v units would still function but I haven't yet tried it. I will be cautious and aware of the possible tripping of breaker hazard. Thanks for pointing that out.
