ultra, I wasn't worried about you... directed toward Gregster.

I wasn't sure how the garage shop was wired so one of the first things I did was map the circuits... it is nice it is all in emt conduit.

If it is all in conduit can't you change a circuit over to 220v? Seems like it would be easy.

My brother has had this unit for about 1 1/2 yrs... Campbell Hausfeld Portable Electric Air Compressor Model# VT6271 dictcg

have been using this same 220v model for several yrs now. mounted wheels on front, so it's very easily rolled around. 11 cfm max. very pleased, ideal shop model, handles all my impact wrench, etc needs perfectly. & far more mobile than upright tank styles.
for portable construction site air tool needs, lots to choose from, but as mentioned, you'll sacrifice output

20 gallon 13.7CFM and it is portable

California Air Tools compressors are very low CFM units.
Suitable for small pneumatic tools only.

They also have 4 hp 220v units spec'd at 12.80 CFM @ 40 PSI and 10.60 CFM @ 90 PSI but looks like the 220v offerings don't have wheels.

Do you really have a lot of 220v plugs around to be able to move a 220v air compressor? I don't. I install 220v plugs where I need them. And my 220v plugs are different. Some run my welder 50 amp. Some run my air compressor 20 amp. Some run my table saw 30 amp.

If you are going to use extension cords wouldn't it be easier to add more air hose than electric cord?

cheaper to buy battery tools than run air hose and a big compressor - but if needed run hose not move compressor around

Ultrarunner, Thanks for the clearer picture. Just air-line the tanks together and that will equal to more air power? or just a larger supply of air? Still don't see how that provides any more line pressure, rather just a longer time before unit kicks on to charge back up.

Dragon, I have quite a few available receptacles but yes they are on the same circuit. I believe that two 110v units would still function but I haven't yet tried it. I will be cautious and aware of the possible tripping of breaker hazard. Thanks for pointing that out.
