I'm debating which one to go for and which one will be changed by JD. Are all the 4000 series being redone and is the 2210 going to follow ?

from what I am told the 2210 is a all new model in 2002 and should not be changed for quite a long time. Seems like JD keeps same models for quite a few years. 5 or better years I am guessing.

How you plan to use it should help decide which one would be better for you. I personally wouldn't be concerned about future changes to either model. I have a 4115 and am very happy, no problems at all. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I guess it all depends on what y'a want to do with that tractor. Me, I choose the 4110. I guess I wanted a tractor that was more like a big tractor than a garden tractor /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I've owned both. I was happy with the 2210 and am happy with the 4110. They are different tractors in many ways. I wouldn't worry much about whether they are going to change the model line up. The comments above about picking the right machine for your needs are right on.

BTW, the 2210 is a far cry from a "Garden Tractor" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do you still have both or only the 4110? If so why the change?

Consider the attachments you have or want to have, and pick the one that will handle them best (2210 will take smaller attachments). Consider the wheel diameter (the 2210 with smaller diam. wheels will be a rougher ride over rough ground, like fields, but okay on lawn type acres). Consider the climb up and down (neither are too difficult, IMO, but they are different). Consider the room you have while in the "cockpit". One may be preferable over the other. For lawn, I have the X485 and it is great. For loader, rotary cutter, forks, woods work, etc. I have the Deere 4300.

If I had to own just one, I would be frustrated as to what it would be, a 2210 or a 4110. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

andre,
What do you plan to use the tractor for? I don't believe you have told us this. Also as others have said go for the tractor that fits your needs. Don't worry about the tractor being "redone" as all tractor manufacturers change their line from time to time.

Don't worry about the model change.

That being said, the 2210 is more in line than the 4010. The new series will be something lke this:

4x20s - large frame
3x20s - Mid frame
2x20s - Small Frame

And of course thay step right up with the 5xxxs and on...

Again, both have applications. If in dougt, go a little bigger than you think.

Andre,
I agree with the others, it all depends on what your needs are, what are your primary uses for the tractor? If loader performance is a high importance, the 4110 is much better with it's increased hydraulic power and larger tires for more push and dig forces. If mowing is higher priority, and the area is lawn and not fields, then the 2210 is a great mower. They do use different decks, the 54C and 62C decks on the 2210 are new decks, where the 54 and 60" on the 4110 have been around a while. That 60" on the 4110 is a bear of a deck, much heavier than the newer 62", although I have heard very little complaints with the performance of the 62C. The tire size will make a difference in fields as mentioned earlier. They take the same front snowblower if you are in need of that attachment. The 2210 does not have a factory folding ROPS, but one is available aftermarket. (may come in handy mowing under trees etc.) Don't let the engine HP ratings confuse you, the 4110 will do everything the 2210 will with less HP, and more than likely do it better because of it's hydraulic system. I beleive the PTO ratings are within 1 HP of each other where it counts.
One other factor, the financing. Deere is offering 36 months at 0% on the 4110, the 2210 only has 24 months at 0%. Ifyou need longer term financing, then they are the same rates with terms going out 84 mos.

Good Luck
