2210 overheating

Time to call the dealer. As others have said, that's not normal cooling behavior for that machine. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Had the grill almost totally blocked off with grass and still never had it overheat on me.

Ditto, I've been bush-hogging with my 2210 in stuff taller then me on the tractor, all kinds of stuff stuck to the grill and no overheating. I DID stop occasionally to clean off the grill but only because it seemed like the right thing to do, and not due to any warning lights.

Never had a problem when mowing grass. Why is all that stuff flying up and sticking? Could it be the deck is clogged and grass is coming out the front instead of the chute?

I agree with calling the dealer. My grill gets covered completely and I mow sometimes stuff that is over the top of the grill with my 62C. Never had an overheat problem and it takes me 6 hours to mow.

Our 4120 sucks air through the grill screen like a tornado is pushing it through. I've always kept an eye on it if I work near loose material that can get sucked onto the grill...like leaves. Mostly though, it gets coated with the little bugs that hang out in the field. When I turn the tractor off in the garage, they all fall off and start flying around /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Makes for a messy garage. But I've never seen any problems with running high temps (4120 has a temp gauge). I assume the 2210 is similar in the design though...grill with screen, then behind that the radiator with a removable screen that can be cleaned. But the larger tractor does have over a foot of clearence between the grill and the radiator. I'm sure that helps. Your situation sounds extreme. I'd definitely tell your dealer what's going on. 15 minutes before it starts flashing the dumy light at you is crazy.

something else is going on there. I've never had mine get hot even with the grill/side screens full of grass and fluff. I clean mine out when I'm done, after 3 hours. Every 20 hours or so I clean the whole thing including the radiator with the power washer. check your coolant level, clean your radiator, and if that don't help call your dealer.

I have had this happen to me a couple times. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

If the Side and front vents are covered I am OK Only as long as the radiator screen is clear.

It is the Radiator screen getting clogged with clippings that was causing my overheating light to come on.

Has anyone found a gauge to install in place of or in addition to the light? A gauge set (temperature, oil, etc) would be nice.
