2210 vs. 2305

 / 2210 vs. 2305 #11
Rhonda,

Position control will be available on the 2320 and is on the 2520. I'm very interested in the 2320 (size wise has my interest) as well as position control. I don't believe the 2320 will be grossly better than a 2305 or 2210, but rather, I view it as the first machine above the 2305 that gives more flexibility in position control of the three point and comes standard with the option to get a Deere backhoe.

I'm not going to resist the urge to chime in here. I've got 41 hours on my 2305. I'm very happy with it. It beats the heck out of not having a tractor. I can shoe horn it into a corner of my shed and I didn't have to sell the farm to afford it.

In my limited raking and box blading I think position control would be very advantagous. Also given what some people have said about the vulnerability of the hydro fan more ground clearance would be good too. And if money were not an issue for me a few more HPs would mean a bigger mower too. And the 2520 has faster FEL speed....

I'm not unhappy with what I have now. But now I have a better understanding of its limitations. If I had the money, and I had it to do again, and the 2320 were actually available I would look closely at the 2320 or a 2520. But that's probably just the Y chromosone talking.

Its the Y chromosone that will push you up the scale until that 4720 is in your garage! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had the opportunity to examine the 2210 and 2305 literally side by side and I must say I was not impressed with the 2305. The 2305 hood and side covers seem cheap and other than that diffences are minute. Some have complained about the rough ride of the 2210 and with over 200 hours on mine it seems the rubber springs under that seat get harder every season. 2305 has the same seat suspension I believe. So I am considering the purchase of a very heavy lawn roller. However two thumbs up for the versatility and reliabilty of the machine in general.

That would seem to make it more stable on my moderately hilly terrain. I'll be mainly brush-hogging, landscaping and improving about a quarter-mile of gravel roads on 6.5 acres.

Again, with this application, I don't see a subCUT as the no brainer choice. They are fine machines, but I see her quickly outgrowing them and wishing for a 2520. My wife uses a 4310 which is sized as the 3x20's and it has already shrunk for her.

But I would rather suggest the safe route. If Rhonda gets the 2305 and loves it, that certainly is great. BUt it should be with the understanding that it is more limited...
