.22s ... anyone have one ?

Be careful, they multiply.

My most favorite I have ever been acquainted with are:

Marlin 39A with a Skinner rear peep sight. It is the most accurate I own and I like the heft of it.

Winchester 9422 - I have two of them, a large loop LR and a regular .22 Mag. Since they don't make them anymore they are mostly safe queens. They are just a little trimmer and maybe a tad slicker than the Marlin.

S&W 317 snubbie. It is so light and also corrosion resistant I just can't find a good reason not to have it in my pocket anytime I am out working or recreating out on the land. Shooting a rat on the run with rat shot with a snubbie .22 revolver inside a horse stall is the closest I will ever get to the great shootout at the OK Corral, it is lots of fun.

Remington Nylon 66. This one isn't mine but my fathers. There is no reason that it should still work or even resemble anything that looks like a firearm. There is no telling how many times it has been fired. It has ridden behind the seat of his truck daily, not in a case, full of dirt and dust, and "cleaning" is getting hosed out with WD40 every 5 or so years. I can never remember him not having it, and it was the first not BB gun gun I ever shot so it has to be at least 40 years of this abuse and it keeps on ticking.

Browning Buckmark - this is the first handgun I ever bought. I still own it and shoot it regularly. I was sold on the sights and the trigger, they were sweet back then and are still sweet today. I have taught many to shoot with it and as good as the Ruger autos are I have always shot this one better.

I have others. I have Ruger handguns and rifles in .22, a couple of the Henrys and some Remingtons of different flavors, but those are my favorite.

1. Marlin 39M Golden Carbine, lever action, that I purchased new in 1975, it is a sweet shooting rifle.
2. Chipmunk, single shot rifle that I bought new in the 70,s. The little rifle shoots very well but is too small to be handled by an adult, but works great for the grandkids when we go shooting.
3. An Iver-Johnson, rolling block, single shot rifle made in the early 1900's. I bought this at an auction 35 years ago for $27, it still shoots well for it's age.
4. AR7, floating, semi auto rifle. Not a quality piece, but is a great knock around gun that you can throw behind the truck seat or in the boat and the Parkerized finish is rust resistant if you get it wet.
5. Air Arms .22 caliber bolt action air rifle with a rotary clip. This is a sweet shooting gun and my favorite for plinking and pest control. With a velocity of around 1400 fps it is deadly on small game with an unmatched accuracy. The only problem with this gun is pumping up the air reservoir, which can be a workout, but a full tank of air last for around 100 shots. The gun has a suppressor so the only sound you hear is the action cycling, which allows multiple shots for hunting or pest control.

Several others that I traded or sold and wished that I had kept.

Have seven here but my favorite of them is my M&P 15-22. AR in .22 is a blast to shoot!

I have one of the Nylon 66s also. Was my great-grandfather's and I can still remember shooting turtles with it when I'd go with him to check oil leases.

I would love to have another 39A. Dad had one when I was a kid, but he traded it off and I never got my hands on it. The are so expensive now. I remember the old nylon 66 we had too, a fun gun, we must have put thousands of rounds thu that thing.

Hi Tyler! Welcome to our group.:)

Isn't it amazing ? You can find all the alcohol to drink in this land you want, but .22 cartridges are pretty scarce.
