2305 and 80" mmm

I have a 2305 with a 62C MMM. I have been looking for a mower that will get further under spruce trees and not knock the candles off the trees in the spring. Has anyone tried the flex-deck from this company? It adds an 18" deck to the 62C making a total of 80 inch cut. It is hinged at the side so it follows the conture of the ground and can cut 45 degrees up and 8 degrees down.

Kind of in its infancy though. I'd like to see and test drive a few before jumping on the endorsement package (BTW, I'm available for the right endorsement number!

Looks like something that might be great. I definitely think the 2305 can swing more mower. I'd like to see a little more detail on the installation since it requires welding. The price seems reasonable.

I really like that extra width to mow ditches and under trees, but how would I get it on my trailer, which is only about 8 inches wider that the 62c.

Looks like you can prop it up like a batwing mower, Gary.

I like that thing, it would be a cost efficient way to cut down more of my ditch banks. I've been sniffing 5' sickle bars but would need to add hydraulics to the back of my 2305 (no way I'll get on and off to change bar positions every minute, or so!). That pushes the sickle bar to an extreme amount of $$$...

Build yourself one of these... it is pull-type, and sticks WAY under the spruce trees. Also makes for a huge mower when added to the 48 or 54 deck under your tractor. When I built it, I kept the engine as far away from the trimming edge as I could, to allow it to get under the trees. It hasnt missed a mowing since I completed it in the Spring of 2005. Its based on a Honda belly mower deck, to which I added engine, wheels, hitch, controls, etc.

I called the company and was told there is a transport mode. Just pull up on a chain to lift the deck and lock it in place. It adds only 2 inches to the width of your original mower deck in that position.
