However, many 2320 owners feel that the 2320 is underpowered, especially in high gear.

I don't find the 2320 underpowered, it just has slower hydraulics for the most part. The high gear is similar on the 2520. It's a transport gear. If you are using commercially then by all means get a 2520, but for many home applicatins the 2320 with slower hydraulics are more than capable. For what you are doing though, with 1 acre..it might pay to rent a a full size TLB for a week. You could do most everything easily with a full size machine.. Then mow the yard with your lawn tractor. Not as fun long term though... but way better cost finacially.

MiIght want to recheck the JD configurator. My interpretation of the following:

"Requires Loader Option Code 9505. Loader Pricing is not
reflected in Code 9505 List Price, see Loader Price Pages.
Loader will be invoiced separately."

is that $16,333 does not include price of FEL which is another $2,260 for 200X or $2,713 for 200CX (plus options / accessories) as required for full installation. So MSRP for the 2305 with FEL / BH is in minimum range $18,593 or $19,046.

The base tractor is $10,750 the BH is $5,110 and the FEL is $2,260 minimum so JD is not going to provide the whole package for $16,333 just because they install the BH at the factory.

You are right, I missed the fine print.
Based on your math that little green machine is costly

After little browsing JD configuration tool site prices for:
2520 with 46BH and 200CX loader $24,218
2320 with 46BH and 200CX loader $21,888
2305 with 260BH and 200CX loader $19,000

The difference between 2520 and 2320 is $2,300 and between 2320 and 2305 comes to $2,800. With 36 months financing (if it ever comes back) it is kinda tempting to buy 2520. Considering that everyone here highly recommends 2520 I am starting seriously think about that machine as well

Also can someone explain what is the difference between 200X loader and 200CX loader, there is around $800 price difference.

I am just wondering how much you can bargain off from dealer comparing to list price. If anyone recently made a purchase it would be beneficial to know what is the real world price versus website quote.

When I was buying small LA140 dealer charged assembly fee and crate (so called environmental) fee. The fees were just $40 bucks, but I am curious if there any other bogus fees involved (beside delivery) when buying bigger machine.

Thanks again to all who responded.

the bh on 2305 after about 2 hrs of use in the hot summer sun has a tendency to stop working. mostly because the transmission is fan cooled not oil cooled like the 2320.

If you can afford the bigger tractor it always worth it...

The 200x loader is permanent (does not come off without hours of wrenches) the 200cx is a quick park loader. comes off in 60sec without ever leaving the seat of the tractor...

ah, you do have to leave the seat, or stand on yer head, but yes the cx will come off lickety split, the x is designed as a "permanent" install

If you use the "Build" option on the JD website, the 2305 is sold as TLB (tractor loader backhoe). This includes the 200CX loader and 260 backhoe. Package price is $15,900.

Boy I am glad other folks are coming up with different prices using the JD configurator; makes me feel better:)

When I bought my 2320 last winter the dealer knocked about10% of the configurator price. Delivery (65 miles one way) was included.

As far as the high gear lack of power, I don't really use high gear except when I am on pavement so it is not an issue for me.

I was under the same impression but apparently that is not correct. Please read quote below.
