2305 snowblower drive-shaft retrofit

Don't know about the 2320 or if you're still under warranty, but I called a local dealer and they said they'd do this under warranty for my 2305.

I am a new member to this site.

I recently purchased a "new" 2007 2305 with a 47 blower (less than 10 hours on the tractor). Like the tractor, the blower was unused, but is of a 2007 vintage, and thus has the older style telescoping main PTO shaft with U joints. I have reviewed the posts concerning the vibration problems and noise on this site, and I am experiencing similar problems: significant vibration, and noise, worse when the blower is lowered to the ground (but better when blowing a full load). I have gone through the blower to check everything else, and chain, set screws, etc are all fine.

I suspect that, unless I do something about this problem now, over time the vibration is going to result in many of the other problems everyone seems to have experienced with this blower on a 2305.

My question is - does adding the new retrofit shaft (LVB 25966) solve this problem entirely, or do I have to purchase or revise the front short-shaft somehow as well.

Thanks for re-visiting this topic. I am hoping to fix the problem right off the bat, once and for all, and you all seem to have much experience troubleshooting this problem.

Thanks

That is my question and for that cost of of I think 388 +tax. was it for the shaft and front piece or just the shaft ????
Thanks in advance.

I've got about 4 hours on mine so far. With the blower floating on the ground, the part of the noise that 'doesn't sound right' seems to me about 50% what it was w/ the original shaft. There's still some rattling, but it feels much better.

With the blower lifted, like to back up or whatever, there's no comparison. In fact, with the blower lifted, there's no rattling or vibration at all now. I used to disengage the blower to back up because it made such a racket when I lifted the blower up more than an inch or so off the ground. Now I can leave it engaged, lift it all the way, and it sounds like it should.

Hi guys. First, the cost for the retrofit include the drive-shaft and the 2 pentagon bearings. The front piece is part of the original fit. With this new retro-fit, it eliminated about 95% of the vibration which was cause by that long telescoping shaft. As for the cv joint, this has reduce that knocking noise considerably. The rest of the noise is coming mostly from the small shaft because of the angle of the blower in the up or far down position (from what I read, it seem to be worst on the 2305, angle being different from other models) If you search this forum under ''47'' snowblower'' you will find more info. that explain what makes that knocking noise and why it usually goes away under load. I got my retro-fit under warranty, so i certainly don't regret it. Do I recommended? Any vibration that runs directly to your pto, I think, should be eliminated if the possibility excise. Any long term vibration can't be good, particular here, since we usually receive a fair amount of snow. (this year being and exception) All this info. is base on my own experience and at the end, the choices will have to be yours, looking at the pros and cons. Jmo. Hope this helps and not confuse people more.:)

Thank you for sharing your experiences on this.

I am going to update the rear shaft. Hopefully it helps. This spring, I will probably add a CV on the front short shaft if any significant vibration remains.

where can I buy this system?
Well, here the good news,''if you can see it that way'' for a mere $338.00 can. plus tx you can eliminate pretty much all that knocking noise from your 47'' snowblower. I've just install mine and tried it out, big difference. Here a few pic. of what it looks like. The big difference is the double u-joint at one end, and the fixed shaft.
