2305 starting problem

Hmm, 7 years and 660 hours and still on my original battery, what am I doing wrong?
(yea yea, ticking time bomb)

What is not serviceable about this starter? Looks like bearing would be available and easy to replace. check out jdparts.com and look at the diagrams. (screenshot here)

My 2305 starting issue is a bit different. When starting, the engine cranks over and starts but then dies out within a few seconds. This has been happening on and off for a couple years. Now I just can't get it started. I used a volt checker and I get 12.8 volts on the battery so it seems to be working, but I haven't replaced it.

What could be causing it to cut out?

Anyone know where to get used or OEM starter? 800 bucks seems steep

OK so I just read the whole tread, you been having problem with your starter since Dec. 2011. Is it the same starter or have you done something to it at the time?

You can't rebuild them according to JD dealer

Same one I'm just worried on of these times it's not going to start!
