Snow 2305 Stuck in the Snow

Thank you all for the comments. After review, it sounds like I need spacers and chains. The rear weight was not the problem - I have a backhoe on, and the parking brake wasn't on. The four wheel drive seems to work properly with both rears turning and one front turning with the differential lock in. There was wetness under the several inches of snow, and I guess it's simply a matter of not enough traction. The backhoe mount dictates the need for spacers, and they certainly won't hurt the stability in the warm months. Once again, thanks to all...
I have a Kubota BX23 with non loaded AG tires. No chains.
I never remove the FEL or BH.
Steve
Traction is excellent with it.
I'd say the R 4 tires are part of your problem.

I have a 2210 with loader and back blade. I run turfs in summer and bars in winter, and there is no comparison. With those R4's you'll need chains - since you have the backhoe on, ballast is not the issue.

Try letting some air out of you tires for a quick increase in traction. You have to let the little cleats flatten out a bit.

I went from Aigs on my 2210 to R4's on my 2520, and HONESTELY, the 2210 did MUCH better in the snow than my 2520 does.
The R4's are just retarted, they're too smooth, they don't bite in, they just sit on top and spin. They are wonderful with chains on, but useless by themselves.

ChuckinNH mentioned something in this thread about wheel spacers. Could you fill me in on which garden tractor they come on? I would like to space my wheels out a little for better stability. How much does it space them out? Thanks Chuck!

Thank you for the reply. I have been wanting to space my wheels out a bit for stability. I had a JD 400 that had a nice wide stance. Steve T.

Have you looked at your rims closely?? Not sure about green but when I got my kubota I was a little tippy when doing loader work. Took reading my manual to figure out that they ship them in an "orchard" configuration ie rear wheels at narrow setting. There are two ways of mounting the rims. Flipping them around and mounting in the widest configuration you pick up 4 more inches of "stance" on each tire for a total of 8 inches wider stance. Huge difference.

I have looked into that and the wheels on my 2210 compact cannot be flipped around. I had a 4ooJD that I could do that with. Thankks for the idea anyway.

I use turf tires on mine and have some hills to deal with. Only had one issue after a real bad ice storm but worked my way up the hill. I'm always impresed by the the 2305.
