2305 with bachhoe/swivel seat

latest info on seat snafu- went to PA farm show today(Jan 14 2011) hoping to maybe see new 1026 there nope not till march they said. So talking to dealer there and subject of seat came up,"you know there was a recall on that seat"
I told him that both dealer I bought my 2305 from and another JD dealer near me said same thing " dont know of any seat recall, you want the updated seat base-$625" or "should have waited till new seat came standard on the tlb"
The guys at Farm show looked at me like I was goofy. They said to press my dealer, show them info from thos forum, tell em I got different answer from them at show,... SO has anyone else had their seat swivel base replaced under the recall?
BTW they even did one for a 4 year old 2305 ; out of warranty obviously.

My two cents; I'd be really surprised if this is really covered under a recall since it isn't a 'safety' issue, per se. Put your self in JD's shoes for a second. If they offered free product improvement updates for all of their products, they'd be out of business.

I hope I'm wrong, but my crystal ball tells me that the guy at Wagonguy's show was taking undue liberties, an irresponsible action if it is the case. It will surely only lead to disappointment.

On the other hand, I (used to) hurt myself regularly by pinching a finger while rotating my seat so one could argue it is a safety issue. I guess that is where the controversy may lie. Hopefully Etcal can get to the bottom of it.

The whole world is watching Etcal. Our fate is in your hands...!

On my 2305 that is two years old JD paid for parts and dealer charged one hour labor. All done very happy with new setup.

first thing dealer asked me at the farm show when talking about the 2305 was
" have you caught your fingers in the seat?" So I guess someone knows its a problem. only takes couple of the "right" fingers caught in something to get the corp lawyers attention. I am going to ask my dealer again about this,I got card from guy at farm show, he said call him if my local JD guys arent interested. He gets paid back by Deere to replace em, said they have to keep the old seat base usually for week or 2;sometimes Deere wants them back. otherwise they scrap em.
