Guys, I have a 2008 2320 with a 62D deck and 200 cx loader. 175 hours on machine. I thought about jumping on this 2520 rebate deal. They will give me$13,500 for mine and looking at $18,350 for the 2520 with a 62D and 200cx. It doesnt really seem worth the difference to me. Am I not getting enough for trade, paying too much for the 2520, or a little of both?
Also, I would be doing this mainly just to get the newer machine, not because I want a bigger machine or am unhappy with the 2320 in any way.

I got a quote last week for a 2520 with 200cx, RC2060 rotary cutter and 6 ft rear blade (RB2072) for $17,200. This equates to about 10% off list price plus the $2,500 rebate. Not sure exactly how much the 62D costs but I think it's roughly equivalent to the rc2060 plus rb2072 ($1800 and $700, respectively). Hope this helps. I'm in western Missouri - they say prices vary a lot by region. I have at least 3 JD dealers within 30 minutes of me so there is some competition.

Unless Im figuring something wrong, I think they are only giving me about 5% off list after the rebate. They gave me more than that off when I bought my 2320 but it didnt have a rebate either.

You should be able to negotiate a better deal.

Its about what I would expect, given the circumstances. The deals, like any business, are not set up to have people just trade up but are set up to get more people driving/using Deere tractors. The dealer doesn't get paid for just moving tractors back and forth, IMO.
What I'd do is look seriously at selling the 2320 myself and dealing on the newer machine, if I was serious about wanting the newer one over the older one. That is one reason I still have my original 4300 and have not traded up to a newer model with more HP. ;)

"what dealers did u deal with and any recomendations"

I have dealt with Heritage Tractor in Harrisonville, and have been very happy with their service.

You are getting about 7.3% off the price in addition to the $2500. I was given price of $18670 for the same tractor but with the 72" deck instead of the 62D.

I was figuring list for the three items at $21891 less the $2500=$19391. He is quoting me $18350 so I was coming up with about 5% difference between the $19391 and the $18350. What am I missing that you got 7.3%? Not questioning your math just trying to figure out if I am getting a fair deal or not. thanks

I did not have the exact price on the 62D and attaching parts so I guessed with $3250 verses the $2796 actual list. I ran your numbers and get your percentage.

I will say to look at your quote individually. I say that because on my written quote the percentage off is different for each piece. Tractor is 7.5%, 200 cx is 3.5%, and 72"mmm is 10%. Then it takes off $2500 for the implement discount. This is just to give you an idea of where they are taking the money off.

For Mutton to take another $1351 off of your price for the $16999 price is a pretty darn good price. Each dealer will be different finacially as to what they can offer.

Another thought on this. How about keeping the existing front end loader and mower. Simply trade in 2320 for 2520, or possibly sell the 2320 privately. The other thought was leave well enough alone. There isn't a world of difference between the two models, and you very low hrs on the 2320.

I thought of that but you have to get two implements to qualify for the 2500 rebate and that was the whole reason I was considering it. I dont need any other implements as I have lots already. The other idea of just keeping what I have might be the most logical at this point. Pretty tough to beat a 2320 for what I do.

So let me get this strait. For 5 grand you can trade to a tractor that is almost exactly the same as what you have. You've just owned your current tractor through the high depreciation period and now that you'll be moving into the low depreciation period and you want to spend 5 grand so you can start over in the high depreciation period and lose more money.

I'm not trying be a jerk here. I'm actually trying to help you out by telling it like it is. If you have tons of cash and no debt then do whatever you want with your money. But if you have any concern about good financial stewardship, then back away from the JD dealer!

No I see your point. Im not trying to push away anybody that wants to talk me out of this. For that reason, I must not think its that great of a deal.

I would keep what you have imo. Most people get used to trading their cars and pickups every few years but I would avoid that with tractors.
