2320 Drive Shaft U Joint blew up.

Eeek! (****, as I'm typing I'm realizing this thread is like...5 years old. But anyway...). Hope you figured everything out and were able to get the u-joint and everything fixed by the dealer without to much hassle. And for those of you stumbling across this thread like me - if you have to replace anything I reco ACV. Good stuff, decent prices, good support.

Stumbled across this thread myself. And may others I need to read.

My neighbors 2320, that's probably about 10 years old and 650 hrs, just blew the front joint apart. Won't get a chance to get it to my shop and tear into it til Monday maybe, but what little I see, it looks like the front yoke was toast.

I bout ***** when I saw the $700 pricetag of a whole shaft.

Given the age, it's unlikely dealer will do anything, even with their failure to mention it in the manual, or send the revision to her.

Guess I didn't realize this was a big issue til I started searching. Something like this, I would think, should have warranted a tsb or recall to correct damaged shafts, or to give a first round greasing for free or something to make owners aware?

Does this problem apply to a 2032R or is the 2320 a different design?

The 2320 is the same as the 2025r. I believe the 2720 and 2032 are different but I can not guarantee they don't have a similar issue.

Didnt seem to. Just the driveshaft. Screwed up the yokes pretty good too. So its gonna cost her $700 instead of $40 with just the joints.

Same thing happened on my 4010, really the same tractor.

The donut thing more or less exploded when I turned the PTO on to the bush hog. Then nothing worked.

I traded it in on the 1025, which proved to be lemon. Than traded that on a 2025, which is near the same as your 2320 and my 4010.

Can't get to that front U joint.

Mine blew today while mowing. My mechanic neighbor came over to show me how to tear it down and make the repair. Looks like parts will be $700. He said it looked like it had never been greased. We had it professionally serviced at 100 and 200 hours. I did the 300 hour service. Nothing in the manual about greasing. Tractor is 9 years old.

If professionally serviced at the dealer, and documented, and you never got the revision about greasing...pressure your dealer for help

Yesterday while servicing my mower I made sure the driveline was greased. Tough to get to but it has to happen.
