I am working on a deere 2320 hydrostatic with 200cx fel
I had to replace the gasket between the trans case and the hydrostatic drive. I removed everything from the case during removal ie axles and the rockshaft case and the bracket on the rear of the rockshaft case. Everything worked fine before this job it just had a leak. Now that the job is complete the three point arms and the fel move extremely slow and the fel will not even lift the front of the tractor up. The tractor seems to drive and turn just fine. It has fresh fluid and a new filter. Any ideas what could be causing this?

could the wrong fluid cause this? The guy I am doing this for supplied me with the parts and the fluid. From what I can find this machine calls for J20C or J20D and the fluid he gave me says J20A. Could this be my problem?

My guess would be a) wrong fluid (it should take hy-guard or low viscosity hy-guard - not sure of the numbers though) or b) not enough fluid in the system-

To check the fluid level - with the fel on the ground and the 3pt lowered - you should see about 1/2 the sight glass full of fluid.. YOu may have to give it 10 -15 minutes to settle down after you run it.. I found that I needed to run the rear PTO to get the fluid to show in the glass on my last fluid change.

The fluid level is good. I have had to top it off several times as I have taken stuff back apart to check various things. I am checking it with the fel on the ground and the 3pt lowered and keeping the level between half way and the top

The fluid is a universal hydraulic fluid that meets jd spec j20A. I unbolted the various parts off the case and it sat for about a month while waiting for parts to arrive. At first it was extremely over filled but was not started until the fluid level was corrected

STRIKE #2 for me, getting ready to take another swing though.. Could you have air in the lines? Not sure how you remove that though..

I deffinatly appreciate the effort. Air in the system is another guess if mine. The weather is pretty nasty here tonight but I am going to try to figure out a way to bleed it tomorrow night after work. At this point in time I am willing to try anything
