Putting oil in the Cylinders is a common practice. Much easier on a Gas motor. You can remove the spark plugs and squirt oil in the cylinder. Junk Yard dogs have done this for decades. Esp. on low compression. The oil helps seal the weak and worn out Rings and help build compression. I use my decompression for the exact opposite reason. When holding the valves open the Oil,Moisture and raw fuel will get blow out of the open Valves. When you do it the oil has to go somewere which is the Muffler and Exhaust. The motors Cyl. is already in bad shape so the Exhaust is full of carbon unburnt fuel etc. and your makng it worse. I'm all Org. and have pulled and cleaned my Muffler a couple times. Soaked it in gas and Blew it out with compressed air. For decades When I check the fluid levels before use I would clean the exhaust cap. Haven't had to pull the Muffler or Exhuast in Yrs.. Not much oil use either so that's not a problem on mine. Carbon on the exhuast cap with traces of oil is about it. When I first bought it, Org. ASIS I would get Oil and Carbon bombs which would cover the hood and me!! You had to wear a hat. Reason why I pulled and cleraned the exhaust in he first place. Learned also not to try and wipe them off they smear Big Time!! So when you see Mufflers removed and pointed forward that's usually the reason why. Diesel smoke also for some people with breathing problems. But I'm always moving so that's not a problem. I still to the day have my Exhuast cap turned around pointing forward from the Carbon Bomb problem. I can honestly say They do not show up on me or the Tractor after use.So, what sort of fluid and use are we talking here? WD40-ish? Spray down the air intake with no filter on?
Definitely, live and learn. I had never heard of it.
Thanks!
All the best,
Peter
