2520 rotary cutter question

   / 2520 rotary cutter question #21
I also forgot to mention, the 2520 does not have 3rd SCV option, nor does it have diverter valve option, which will permit a 4th and 5th rear remote, although it does have a rear hydraulic hookup option which basically extends the dual SCV hydraulics to the rear. If there is any plans to include top/tilt, or other rear mounted hydraulic implements, be forewarned to plan carefully now.

The tractor is a large expensive tool and even if you don't need certain implements now, you may want them in the future. You'll be sorely disappointed in the future if your needs grown and you find that the tractor is unable to be upgraded although I see that many knowledgeable, creative and skillful members have customized their tractors to meet their needs including a recent post of a user who installed an additional 3 spool valve for TnT and one other loader remote for front grapple. However, for those not as blessed in such fabrication skills, my dealer has advised me that they will not retrofit in a manner inconsistent with the manufacturers recommendations.

No one will argue that the 3120 is a more signifcant machine over the 2520. Its the price difference thats the bone of contention - otherwise more folks would be riding around on a 3120 - myself included.
As I stated earlier the options listed would be only the 300cx which the price listed (by you) is way to low. I will also complicate matters when pricing out a FEL, tractor, Backhoe package for the 3120 and the 2520. The price difference is significant enough -trust me.

As for the 3rd SCV, you can get anything you want installed on the 2520 from the dealer, or elsewhere. You just have to pay for it

I agree - the cost differential is significant. We all agree that getting the most tractor for your dollar AND the tractor that works for your particular application is the way to go. The 2520 fits that niche for a lot of folks. However, I do agree looking at long term goals and adaptability is wise. Cheers

Most people seem to skip the 3120 and get the 3320. Maybe dealer discounted the 3120 more to get rid of it. JC

Well, I was never under the impression that I got a great price but I'm starting to feel better already! :D If the 3120 was discounted to sell because the dealer had too many, then good for me. As for the 3320, it appears that price is a serious hurdle here so we may be going the wrong direction.

Ducatti, the loader pricing was exactly what was quoted to me and it was for the 300x loader. Prior to delivery (due to the forums here at TBN, I called to request the 300x loader be dropped in favor of 300cx loader. Salesman tried to tell me that I wouldn't notice the difference but what the heck, I trust you guys more!). The final price charged to me for the 300cx loader was $4010 which included 61" bucket and deluxe hood guard however, I don't think the individual pricing on the final invoice meant much because it appears that the pricing was juggled between the parts in the order for whatever reason. In other words, some was invoiced at a little bit more than agreed and some were invoiced at slightly less than agreed. I didn't care too much because the final price was the same as agreed.

Contrary to what I've been lead to believe, I visited NH and Kubota also thinking that I might get a better deal but suprise, suprise, around here, they seem to cost more for a comparable product. Certainly, if they were cheaper, it wasn't apparent to me.

I wanted a 3120 myself. I just thought it was too heavy to mow grass with. If I could start over, I would have kept my x475 and got a 3120. But at the time I thought I needed a gator also. Now I have a x495 and a 2520. If I had not lost money on the xuv gator, I would move up in tractor size. Live and learn. JC
