From the promo photos I saw on the JD site It mounts to the frame of the tractor on its own brackets that seem to be built on . No removal of the 3pt hitch bars needed. Big thing is I won't have to remove the MMM brackets as you would have to with the 46. That's my selling point.

Any updates on status of the 270? Last I heard was now spring '12.

Given that its release has been re-scheduled multiple times, I'd add on an extra few months if you're planning work based upon its release. If it does come out on this latest schedule, we'll be delightfully surprised.

You make a valid point. The fact they've misread when the product would be ready so many times certainly implies they could get it wrong another time or two.

My dealer now says June of 2012 -- I have one on order, looks like its going to be awhile yet.

Are you kidding me? Another delay? While I understand how a delay or two can creep in and the manufacturer should want to get the product right before it goes out the door, I'd fire the product manager on this one for getting the date wrong so many times. He should have either allocated enough time to deal with the problems once he knew the product missed the first date, or bring in extra manpower to meet a commitment fate. Unbelievable!

If they had to do another production run of the 46BH then they are going to wait until they sell them all, otherwise they never will be able to sell them. Unfortunately a lot of people know about the 270BH so they are holding there purchase slowing down the introduction even more. It sucks.

That's what happened to me. I want the deeper depth of this hoe, the ability to keep the 3PH on, and especially, the thumb. But if they're not going to deliver on time or within some reasonable time due to a legitimate problem discovered later, don't keep setting and cancelling release dates. That just shows incompetence in managing and decision making, lowers credibility, frustrates the customers, and sends some "would be" customers to competitors -- not smart!
