so what is officially "soon" ?

A 40 amp alternater seams a little large. Maybe there is an optional factory cab for it in the future? Heat in the winter would be nice.

Here's a Word comparo sheet I made when I was shopping showing 2xxx series specs, and I added the 2720 known info to this point. I'll update hydraulics as they become available.

Bigtiller , it just seems there putting the heavy duty alternator
on the 2720. i have one on my 2520 , but when i bought the tractor
it was a $395 option. its good if you run 2 front and 2 rear AUX lights.
you can bet if thay put it on the 2720. it will reflect in the price....;)

The only thing i dont see is , if there just going to add a few HP .
so thay can say thay got a hafe HP more than the kubota. but dont change
the transmission or other options. what is the point. I mean my 2520 has what
26 1/2 or 27 HP and in low range. i dont run out of power ever.
I over power the tires before the motor. it just spins in 4WD...
as far a lift , it lifts as much as the machine can really move safely.
I proved that. so where is the great binifit at. you know its going to cost more.
Maybe i am missing the point....

In your comparo sheet, it shows the 2520 with a 40 Amp alternator. Is that correct or is it a typo? I've seen 40A listed on some info the dealers have printed out for me, but on the brochures it shows 20A

A 2007 2520 came standard with a 20 amp alternator...;)

Chris,

I suspect the main reason for the 2720 is to provide a machine to compete numerically better with the B3030 Kubota and also provide a machine that can give better PTO performance while in high range. I know for me, having had three different mid frame machines (4310 and two 3720's) the 3720 would do nothing more than would the 4310, but on my hilly terrain I found myself using A range almost all the time with the 4310, where I used B and sometimes C with the 3720. I have briefly used a 2520 on my terrain and really could do no meaningful work in B range. I think for someone like me the additional four horses and few lb feet of torque would really help. This does not really apply as much to those who live in flatter areas, as all these machines have ample power.
