2n hard starting when engine is cold.

Any ideas for what to look for on a Ford 2n that is hard starting when engine is cold? 12 volt system and carb was replaced within last 3 years before I bought it. Plugs get wet with gas, but each plug shows good spark when cranking.

Are you getting a good blue spark? If the 12V conversion was done correctly it will have a 12V coil (they sell them for the 2-8-9N's) or a resistor for the 6V coil.
How about a compression check? Those are low compression engines and when it's weak they are hard to start cold.
Might just go to a puff of either to start it cold.

if it has good spark, and you can make wet plugs ( good fuel flow ).. then i would for sure check compression next.
