3/4 ton vs. 1 ton

To be honest, there's no way I'd spend $37k for a truck that's almost 4 years old. Especially for one that's a work truck package. You can buy a new truck all day long for not a lot more than that. Low to mid 40s will get you in one especially with it being the end of the year.

And what a dealer doesn't have, they can get from any other dealer as far away as you want to look. I have had vehicle brought in from out of state that met exactly what I wanted by the dealership I was talking with. I can test drive anything they already have, and have them get the one that more closely matches all the spec's I want. Even doing that, negotiation is still on the table.

Well.....I finally made a decision. I looked at lots of used trucks that were set up like I wanted, but ended up going with a new one. I'm getting a 9'4" CM bed put on it tomorrow. I hope I made the right decision.....

Just a little more info.... I had been looking at a few trucks like this one. 214 DODGE RAM 35 TRADESMAN 4X4 DAULLY DIESEL FLATBED at Texas Direct Auto

The deal I made on the new truck worked out to be about $7500 more than a 2014 model with 14,000 miles on it. Mine will have a little more chrome on it, and a backup camera, and a nicer radio. And I can set up the bed with tool boxes exactly how I want it.

Sticker price was just over 53,000. The price ended up at about 45,000 and they gave me 22,000 for my trade. Taxes and title were about 3000.

I ended up giving my truck which was paid off, and financing 26,000 for 48 months at 2.39%.
