Threepoint, the tractor is back in my drive way it was retested this morning and everything is clear. But yes I could not believe it when the light came on. Talk about disappointing I research for months before getting this tractor, but both Kioti and Van Paemel were excellent to deal with. And it is going to be torture waiting until I can start plowing, ill be sure to keep in contact. I am going to have some more questions down the road, and a lot of projects.
Eric, Was that a manual burn or the automatic one? I will post the directions from the Kioti in a few minutes. The automatic I was told to raise the RPMs manually as you stated before. I have a print out on the regeneration cycle and it explains all of the parts of the exhaust and how they work.

Summary run the tractor at or near PTO speeds or a "working load" and your exhaust gas temperature will burn the particulate matter.
Auto: 80-100% Particulate matter in the trap will initiate the automatic regeneration. You need to reach and stay at above 1500 rpms or the regeneration cycle will stop. The regeneration cycle will last approximately 20 minutes. The regeneration underway lamp will be lit during the process, do not shut the engine off until the regen underway lamp is off.
Manual has to be initiated after the particulate matter has gone above a 100% in the trap: Start and run at idle 3 to 4 minutes coolant temp needs to reach 68F. Lock parking brake, do not depress the clutch pedal, place range level in neutral. Press regeneration button, hold for two seconds. Regen underway lamp will blink after the regen warning right turns off. Regen will take around 40 minutes, 12 to warm up, 25 to regen, 3 to cool down.
If you reach over a 101% PM in the trap you will see a 30% reduction in torque until you initiate a manual burn. Seems pretty fair actually.

The reduction in torque stinks. I went into my Kioti NX knowing about it but the excessive warm up time connected to my type of use, led to zero automatic regen cycles.
As a result, I popped in a warmer thermostat and that change seems to have worked out wonderfully.

Yeah, what a ridiculous way to reduce emissions. In a few years all this stuff will be replaced by something less absurd, one can hope.:confused3:

Federal law prohibits tampering with or disabling any emissions related controls, and provides stiff penalties, fines, and jail time. Beheading Tier 4 carp is not covered, though....
