Snow Attachments 3 Point Snow blower

Front mounts look like the way to go, but very expensive. About $4500. for a 60" machine. There are 3ph snowblowers available now that you pull forward. They are about $2500 for the same size machine. I can't remember the brand right now, but I found them on the internet about a month ago. They had an old ford 8N pulling a 5' blower.

I have a 60" Meteor which is about 10 years old and I use in reverse. A neighbor had one that mounted on the rear and faced forward- where you drove over the snow and it picked it up and threw it. The problem is: he had to do our road and his driveway every 3" of snow or it was more than he could handle. Many times when we got heavy snows overnight, I had to clear the road and start his driveway for him.

Just got a lead on a used 5' Lucknow and wondering if anyone has an opinion of this brand.

I'd have to echo MadRef's observations on the Puma vs Meteor and Blizzard quality. I looked at all three this fall and ultimately settled on the Puma 54 even though I really didn't care for the dealer. It's heavier and better built (IMO). It also has adjustable skid shoes, which the Meteor lacked.

Here's a crappy photo.
Puma 54

The Puma 54 was actually less money than I was quoted for a 48" Blizzard. I attribute that to a greedy dealer, and were the Blizzard the superior blower I would have shopped around. The Meteor was quite a bit less $$.

I've heard good things about Lucknow, but couldn't find any dealers who had Lucknow blowers in stock when I was looking.

OK, after a busy summer I ended up buying the 54" Blizzard. I am now pacing, wishing for a snowstorm. I suppose I should order a load of gravel and patch my driveway in preparation for winter. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice choice! I am looking forward to my second winter with my Blizzard B54. Great blower, no regrets at all.
