Mahindra 4035
After owning my tractor for 4 days I just realized the top link for the 3 point hitch is missing. so I need to get one. Not sure what I need...are they all the same or do I need a specific one. And where to get it? I have the 4035. Sorry Im new to this. Thanks

At one time or another, we were all 'new to this'. Try your Mahindra dealer. I am assuming you bought it new, but even if it is used your Mahindra dealer should have one.

tractor supply, agri supply, or other farm type store will have them

Tractor supply stores have them.

Stores may have several lengths of Cat 1 top link, if that is the size you use.

Lift your lower links to about a level position, then measure (with the tape about level) from the top link attachment point on the tractor to a point above the ends of the lower links. That length should be about the middle of the adjustment range of the new link.

The 4035 comes with a VERY nice top link. I've not seen any at TSC or online anyplace that looked as well made. Call your dealer, it is likely they missed seeing it rolling around the floor of the delivery truck and just didn't give it to you (I had that happen with some of my 3pt parts as the guy they use for all their hauling doesn't haul tractors full time and simply forgot, dealer happily replaced stuff). I think the price on the original is kinda high through Mahindra (I know the lower telescoping links are really spendy). If you need to purchase a replacement, I agree with the above that you would never be sorry about getting a hydraulic top link.

I should have specified. I bought the tractor used. Replies are VERY helpful. Wasn't even aware of the hydraulic option. Thanks!

One follow up question. Any of you have a 4035 and know what length it comes with? I can measure too but figured I'd ask...

They shorted you a rather valuable system part. Question is, are they willing to give it up if you ask for it.

I should have mentioned before there is a seller on this site too that sets up hydraulic accessories for three points. I don't remember the name but maybe someone who does can mention him in a post. He sells complete kits. All you need to do is install them.

I could measure mine next time I'm at the farm, but that may not be as soon as you would prefer. Every time I've looked around at such things they didn't quite measure up too the stock unit.

I'd take ya up on that offer if you think of it while your there. I won't need to use the 3 point for at least a month so I'm not in a big rush.

Do you have any hydraulic ports on the back?

There is no way I would ever go back to a manual top link. Might as well upgrade and go hydraulic.

If you don't know about TNT, Top-N-Tilt, Top and Tilt, you probably have never looked at the Hydraulics Forum here.

Top links can be a $20 part. I've got several for my M4700. Some things need a real short top link, some a real long top link. For $20@ it was easier to just get several top links and leave a couple on certain implements.

Made it to the farm today to check that measurement on the OEM toplink.

Top link fully retracted is 22" tip to tip.

Top link fully extended is 34.5" tip to tip.

Also comes with the cat1/2 ball.

Hope this helps!
