Your not likley to find a shaft with a shear bolt,in 18 yrs. on the farm and last 20 yrs. on heavy equipment,i have never seen a shaft with sheer bolt.Sheer bolts are always on eqiupment just after the pto shaft, and before the gear box on machine.

I have a LUCKNOW rear snow blower that has the shear pin immediately behind the front U-joint up by the tractor's PTO. Right behind the U-joint and part of the casting are two lobes that a 1/4" diameter, 1-1/2" long bolt join together. It is somewhat of a pain because the PTO shield makes access difficult, especially in the winter and dark. LUCKNOW is in Ontario, Canada. I brought it 10 years ago.

My snow blower has the same setup. Shear bolt on the tractor PTO end of the shaft. Just bought it last year, but it was a leftover model.

Depending on what you plan to use it for, you should consider a slip clutch if you think you will break the bolts often. They get to be a pain of they are breaking often as they do on my snow blower every time I pick up a rock.

That set up is just backward from every shear bolt set up I have ever seen (mostly bush hogs) where the shear pin is at the gear box where the shaft is connected. I suppose the shaft could be turned around 180 and the shear plates installed next to the tractor like in your snow blowers, but that would seem to make everything harder to get to when replacing the shear bolts. I am just wondering if someone just set up these two snow blowers PTO shaft backwards from the standard way.

Yup, and after almost 2 more years is still relevant and just the information I needed.
