Looking to buy 3pt shaft with shear pin protection. Would appreciate if someone could pass on dealer or manufacturer info. thanks
That set up is just backward from every shear bolt set up I have ever seen (mostly bush hogs) where the shear pin is at the gear box where the shaft is connected. I suppose the shaft could be turned around 180 and the shear plates installed next to the tractor like in your snow blowers, but that would seem to make everything harder to get to when replacing the shear bolts. I am just wondering if someone just set up these two snow blowers PTO shaft backwards from the standard way.I have a LUCKNOW rear snow blower that has the shear pin immediately behind the front U-joint up by the tractor's PTO. Right behind the U-joint and part of the casting are two lobes that a 1/4" diameter, 1-1/2" long bolt join together. It is somewhat of a pain because the PTO shield makes access difficult, especially in the winter and dark. LUCKNOW is in Ontario, Canada. I brought it 10 years ago.
