300cx troubles...

Ok, are there markings on the loader mounts to indicate which should be on which side? If not, then how can you tell? I've had the loader want to intermittently try to come off the mounting arms, and was just wondering if there's an easy way to check the mounts to make sure they're on the right sides.

sandman, if you look at the flat piece of metal on the end of the mount. The front has a notch in it and the rear is rounded. That is assuming mine are not on backwards too???

Sincerely, Dirt

Sandman, I can forward you a copy of the manual so you can see the mounts. Do you have a open station or cab? Mine didn't have any left or right markings on them. I just refered to the manual that a fellow TBN member sent me.

In addition to the notch, look directly at the mount from the side of the tractor. The front and rear edges of the plate on the end of the mount should be angled forward. If the mounts are reversed the edges will angle backwards.

I have purchased a new mounting frame since this first happened.
I have double checked that the frames are on the correct side.
I just purchased the frame after taking the part to the dealer for inspection. They noted that it was strange but since it was out of warranty they couldn't do much for me.
It had an odvious flat side worn into it, dont know it the steel used was to soft or not.
It was cheaper to buy the frame then to rent a truck to take the tractor to the dealer then rent a truck to go pick it back up.
As the frame wore the mast also wore and now even with the new mounting frame the mast keeps popping off. I have adjusted the locks and it doesn't help.
I believe the original issue was that the locks were not properly adjusted from the dealer and I never knew there was an issue until the mast first popped off.
At that point adjusting the locks was pointless because the wear was to substantial.

I am just telling everyone what happened me not condemning the unit.

Sorry if i was a little harsh, just a little dissapointed in the situation.

This issue with the jd 300 loaders has me concerned... as I just bought one. Have just shy of 50 hours on the tractor and the loader wasn't mounted untill about 20 hrs. In the 30 hrs since I have noticed it has been rattling more lately. I will make a point to check the mounts and adjustments to keep em tight. As posted earlier about solid vs quick disconnect... solid would be fine with me as I need the loader for front ballast and use it often. Not heavy... just to shove fallen logs while brush hogging and bucket full of horsey poop now and again when the kids and I shovel out the stalls. I use the tractor over a wheel barrow any chance I get!

Edit: just relized I replied to a 5 yr old thread....
