we got none to speak of, but 20 miles to the south of me they got 6 inches...

We received 8 inches at my house and about 12' at the top of our mountain, so I am enjoying both my tractor and Gator today. I had hoped our SC poster would have gotten some such that he could have tried out his machine in the snow.

Correction: 12 INCHES, not feet, that would have been a lot of snow.

Zero snow accumulation here. Once again our wonderful weathermen TOTALLY missed the forecast.

Oh well. Hopefully one day I'll be able to fill that FEL with snow!!!

We got enough here.. and it's not going away; either. Minus 13F this morning and minus 6F yesterday morning.

But it's clear blue skies and a dazzling bright sun!! The wife and I went horseback riding yesterday, too!

I'm ready for some dirt; enough of this snow stuff..

I really love to visit your beautiful state, in the summer...winter up there is not my cup of tea!

I was going to go to Alaska this summer via school mission trip, but they're sending me to South Philadelphia. And that's right up the road! Ah well, I'm doing a mission trip for something, and it ain't vacation!

Yessir. I grew up runnin' Masseys, Fords, Farmalls, etc... but there is something about that shiny Green and Yellow that gets you right "there".

The wife took her for a spin around the back forty this afternoon. My chest was bursting with pride.

And the wife wasn't lookin' bad either. :D

Been reading this with great interest as I'm at almost the same crossroads ... in my case the offer is on a 3036E here in the UK ... I'm really torn in my mind as to what I should do.

New value line compact tractor from JohnDeere

Have you any further pics and can you add any updates to how you feel about your purchase of the 3038E?

My dealer has yet to even get one in and says he maynot as sales are slower and he has 2320's 2520's in stock.

Good Luck and good health to enjoy your new tractor

Cheers

;-)

I also told my husband time for a new tractor. Two old Massey's and I don't feel comfortable handling them, plus he just had a knee replacement and then a heart attack 7 weeks after surgery. Time for something easy to handle. So today we looked at the 3038e. We have 13 acre's. Normally just monthly pasture cuts, small garden area for the 2 of use, hay bales to move in winter. Tractor looks so small compared to the massey 135 and 175 but my, so much easier to handle. I just don't want to buy a tractor too small for the job.

Just bought a new 3005 to replace my Ford 1700 that I bought new in 1980. I also have a Kubota B7100 HST that I use around the house. The ford had a traditional gerarbox without an independent PTO that was the bain of my existance back in the old days when I used to run a bailer. Learned to shift quick without a real stop. The Deere has a two stage clutch with live PTO which would have been great then, but not as useful now since the cows are gone and I'm just raising trees. I didn't like the plastic of the 3032 0r 3038. I have hydrostatic on the aand love it for landscape work. Bu twhen I am mowing a field I want to put the tractor in gear and free my old legs up from being in one place. I don't like the R4 tires on the Deere. I don't have the traction I had with the Ag tires of the Ford. But then I didn't play tractorman as much in the winter time until I got my new toy. I go out in the rain nowadays I am so enthused. I particularly like the power steering and the hydraulics in the back to run my new log splitter. I think I will get chains for traction.

Mudfarmer I like your heavy duty bucket on your new 3005. I doesn't look like the standard bucket I got with my 790-300 loader. Did you have to pay extra for it?

A couple hundred extra plus a hundred twenty for the cutting blade (reversible and replaceable). The chain hooks were the dealers idea and are very useful.
