3120 gets no respect

they have the same base engine. The 3520 gets a turbo, while the 3720 has stepped up fuel delivery, turbo, and an intercooler.

Note that all the current engines are slightly de-tuned from the previous series. The 3120 has the replacement engine from the 4310, yet it is slightly less powerful. the 3320 engine is more in line with the 4310, but it is the 4410 engine replacement.

Don't worry, Garrabo, if the 3120 work for you - great! it is a fine machine!

I got a chance yesterday to see a 3120 in
action at a customers property. It was sold
with the 300CX, 448, and 72" mid mower.
We had the tractor delivered on Saturday,
I was off... and yesterday morning I had the call
and some concerns about power while mowing.

So, I drove out and we talked, I went thru service
and operation, then I tried mowing with the tractor.
And yes, this hill that we mowed was quite steep, and
with the mower, in B range, the loadmatch was doing it's
best to keep RPM's up, but they still dropped a couple hundred
below 540 range. I then tried the same hill in A range, and it
was better, but the customer was still a little concerned.
Then, we took the backhoe and loader off (about 2,400 lbs)
and tried it again,, B range, much better. Customer was now
relieved knowing that the tractor was going to be fine. They did do some digging with the 448 over the weekend, and said the were quite impressed with it's performance.

and, they were thrilled with the ease of removing the loader
and backhoe, and the re install. It truly is amazing how easy
it is to do.

Respect, I have a 2520 and have to look up at the 3120. I wanted one, but decided it was to heavy for mainly mowing grass. JC

Seems once a person settles on the group of midsize tractor frames (3120 - 3720) that it is only natural to compare the tractors within that group. The 3120 is on one end of the spectrum of that 4 tractor group.
If comparing to other size frames, like the smaller frames, then the 3120 is maybe the other end of a different group.
Don't see where 'respect' has any bearing on it, but suppose one could feel 'left out'.
Don't feel bad, just feel bad for those who don't even have a 3120 or even have a Deere, for that matter. I do. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I didnt realize the 35 and 3720 got a turbo, I thought that was only on the 4000 series. Guess that explains it /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
