3203 Update

Funny, I would LOVE to have a 4100HST with a belly mower to comlement my 4310!

I think John Deere is going to have a tough time with the 3203. They will have to drop the price on it or raise the price on the others...

I decided to keep the 4100 as opposed to a trade in because my dealer was only looking to give me 9K for it with the 410FEL, 54"MMM, and 54"plow with only 360 hours. I think I could do better on eBay.

And I agree with ddivinia. Those 3203's are gonna be a hard sell where they're priced at right now.

Just wondering, shouldn't we be comparing the 3203 price against the 3320 price, being the same hp?

The 3203 and 3120 both have the 3TNV84 engine (despite what Deere.com lists!)
The 3320 has the 3TNV88.

For some reason, Deere is rating the two 3TNV84 models at different engine speeds. In real life, they are the same.

This comparison is like the 4110 vs 2210, identical engines rated at different RPM's.

Yes, but just a little weirder. The 2210 is a subCUT, which (presumably because they are mostly mowing machines) are rated at their peak pto hp engine speed. Almost all subCUTs are rated that way, and if JD didn't follow the norm, it would make those other guys look better...

The 3203 and 3120 are both CUTs, so why the monkey business? My only real guess is an attempt to bump the place in the product lineup - to appear like a better value. (in other words - to get folks to compare it to the 3320...)

No, different transmissions.

I was just quoted $17,200 for a 3203 w/300 loader today. It drove nicely, but the controls and features were pretty spartan, and the seat wasn't near as comfortable as on the 3120. The price seems a bit high, especially for what is a pretty stripped down tractor. A 3120 with 300C loader was quoted at only $18,380 and a 3320 w/300C at $19,200. For $1180 or $2000 more for more capable machines, I'd go for the 3120 or 3320. Deere definitely needs to get its prices in order if it wants to really sell the 3203's.

I think John Deere will sell more 3120 and 3320s because of the 3203. The 3203 will get people at the dealerships because of the low price then when they compare the two they will probably end up buying a 3120 or 3320 which is a tractor that they weren't even looking at to begin with.
