3215 PTO won't engage

I went to use my flail mower for the first time this season and the PTO won't start. The lever on my left is in position and when I push the mushroom button the light on the dash comes on, but the shaft doesn't turn.
With the lever not engaged I can turn the shaft by hand, when it is engaged I can not.
I checked the switch on the lever and it seems to be working. I also checked the switches under the mushroom button and I'm not sure what I should be getting there exactly.
So, Im at a loss of what to do now.
Any help?

I don't have a 3215, but my 2538 has a "3rd" switch, under the ignition. It's a small handle/knob that you turn from manual, to automatic, to off. If it isn't in Manual or Automatic, then the PTO won't work as well, even if you have the other 2 switches/levers engaged.

Mine doesn't have that knob. This is a 08 model.

The manual says to turn right PTO switch to engage clutch and move PTO control lever, assuming that you do have the gear tractor.

Yeah, I've done that. I've had this tractor for 10 years, I know how to run it.

I have the model 2815HST, but looking at the service manual your tractor use a oil pressure clutch.. Have you check for correct oil level. Also says the drive of the oil pressure clutch is controlled by the INDPTO switch.

Trying to understand the manual, not easy,but when was time you changed the Hydraulic filter . I'll keep checking manual tommorow, it's late.

The pick circuit for the relay goes from the PTO switch - relay - 10 amp fuse in the fuse box. Looks like a green wire from switch to relay and a yellow to fuse. I need to hit the hay, getting hard to focus. Get more information tommorow.
