Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

Yes, My 3120 is a little slow on the lift and dump but it does not cause me a problem nor do I view it as a problem.
Just my input..

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

It will be interesting to see if they put the better valve in the Cab Models. I doubt it. But since many of the other lever arrangements are different in the Cab Model, maybe they did. I will let you know when I get mine if it is different. I hope so.. because it would be nice if it did have that sweet spot to let you do both... I'll let you know, that will be the first thing I'll take notice of when I recieve it... Jason

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

I havn't had this problem with my 4410/430 loader either. Just the dump getting ahead of the hydrolics problem when dumping a heavy load.

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

That is designed that way for a faster dump. It is, I believe, called a regenerative circuit. Nice feature when one learns the sensitivity of the system.

For the lift and dump, I do that with my 4300 and would certainly expect it with the 3x20's. I will for sure check it out.
With the forks on the FEL, I raise and continue to level the load (usually a stack of firewood on a pallet) and would have a mess real fast if it would only raise and not 'dump' or level at the same time.

Reading the comments, I don't get the feeling everyone is talking about the same thing. But in general, sounds like a shortcut that doesn't work and a typical company response (no one wants to admit to a booboo in the engineering dept).

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

Good info! You're right. You have to get to know your machine and each one is different. It took me a while to get used to my JD4410 after 24 years on my kubota L275. But once you get use to the idiosyncrosies of a new machine, the operators skill is what makes the difference.
PS: If this is a design problem, shame on JD for not getting ahead of the problem and owning up to it and offering a solution. It is appearent that the JD engineering staff dropped the ball here and doesn't have the integrety to own up to it.

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

My new 3720 Cab Tractor does in fact lift and dump at the same time. It is only a tad bit slower than normal, and when I say a tad bit, I really mean a tad bit... mine works fine.. all blended funtions work fine...I wonder if it is a different valve inside of the cab models... I don't know, all I know is it was one of the first things I tested when I recieved the tractor... Oh well... it works...

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

JasonMac,

I have been told by my service manager that the older models don't have this issue, your experience supports that.

The current valve makes it nearly impossible to do simultaneuos functions with any speed or finesse, you're constantly "breaking over" to a single function.

I don't have your level of experience, but I do have several hundred hours running machines that offer seamless simultaneous functions (mostly orange, some green). It is a shame that Deere took this shortcut in what I consider to be an otherwise excellent machine. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Very good to hear that your Cab model seems to have a different valve!!!

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

Just a follow up.

My dealer did confirm the cab models have a different loader valve. It is a cable operated valve (that apparently allows simutaneous functions!) Just confirms to me that the problem is in the valve, and that Deere took a shortcut on the standard models. Oh well... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: 3320 w/ 300CX FEL won\'t lift and Dump??

I am about as n00b as it gets with tractor stuff. I read this thread prior to purchasing my 3520 and was a little concerned. And of course I tried to replicate this problem as soon as I got my tractor. While the controls are weighted towards one function or the other, it most certainly DOES do both. It is not easy for me to do so, but I am getting better at it.
I do understand why this thread was started, however. It is a bit quicker to move in one axis, and then the other, than it is to do both simultaneously. But if your are trying to, say, dump gravel or barkdust evenly while backing up, it is definately not impossible. It just takes a good amount of concentration and practice.
Perhaps it is easy with other models/brands/systems... I wouldn't know.
