3320 Wiring Question

Once I can get at my backhoe I am going to start a hydraulic project which will require 12 volts back at the backhoe control. Can anyone give me some advice on how to easily pull power off the ignition circuit on my 3320.

I suggest you create a new and separate fused (or CB protected) 20 or 30 amp circuit directly from the battery through a relay. This takes any additional electrical load out of the factory wiring harness that is usually not sized for anything other that what the factory offers. This relay can be triggered from any circuit in the fuse panel that is HOT when the key is ON. You can also use this circuit to power additional worklights and power outlets, ect.

Just what kennyd said. That is exactly how add ins should be wired, THROUGH A RELAY! My work lights are wired this way and should never pose a problem. Bosch relays are cheap and compact/ used alot in OEM applications. Good luck

I wired my lights that way so I shall look for somewhere to tuck in another relay and take your advice.

Should this be done for every accessory, wiper, relay, fan relay, lights relay, or can one be wired to a bus bar and daisy chained so each accessory is running through the same relay?

If I want to use different lights couldn't I disconnect the factory lights and use the wiring to my work lights? My snow blower, and loader block the front lights and since I've added a cab would like to mount lights up high.

You can create just one new circuit to power all the add-ons, in your case the new circuit would feed everything in the cab.

You can do anything you want...But I would just add the new lights on a separate switch(s) and leave the factory wiring alone.

No need for another relay then...unless you want to keep everything separated.

Kenny,
The relay that I added is powered from the connector under the seat which I believe is the factory connector for add on worklights. That relay only has power when the lights are on. I think I will add a second relay up beside the battery. Is there an easy way to connect a seperate circuit directly to the pos battery post?
