I just bought a 3430 with a bucket and grappler. The lifting power is very weak. It will not lift the bucket full of dirt. Is there any way to adjust the hydraulics?

You can adjust the pressure, it requires shim(s) which are basically washers. It would really be best though to let your dealer do it. I have a gauge on my L3830 and it is about 50lbs higher then what is stated as the operating pressure in the manual. Could be the gauge or maybe just that I am slightly higher but well witin the allowed tolerance. If you cannot lift a bucket of dirt that is clear and free from a pile, you have an issue. Do not expect to lift a load of dirt in the pile, you must break it out of the pile. I can heap my bucket with the toothbar and have no problem lifting a heaped bucket of just about any material to full height.

We was hoping there was an easy way of just turning a screw. Oh well. The tractor does not even have 10 hrs on it yet. Will the power increas as it is broke in?

The power of the motor will increase over the next several hours as the motor breaks in.

But his will have no effect on the hydraulics.

As far as lifting power, as already stated if the bucket is free from the pile you should be able to lift the dirt. Now if it won't lift the bucket full of dirt while the bucket is still part way into the pile that is very common and understandable. While in the pile not only are you lifting the full bucket but also all of the dirt above your already full bucket.

I just got a 3430 with the LA 723 a few months ago and I haven't had any trouble with lifting power. I have dug some very wet, thick & heavy mud from around my pond and lifted it out with power to spare.

This tractor / loader is a real horse.

Is your loader the 723 or 523?

I have to admit that I am pretty unimformed about tractors. I will find out and get back with you. I only know that it is a HST 3420. What is the difference?

I also have a 3430 HSTC with a 723 loader and have all the lifting power I need. I would caution you to be careful as when the bucket is full of material the rear of my tractor gets lite. I am in the process of making a weight box with 540lbs of concrete.

How much does the grapple attachment add to the weight of the loader bucket and do you think that will effect how much you can lift in the bucket? Which loader did you get?
