Concerning the high cost of the filter, Have your dealer call and complain to Yanmar about the high cost compared to other brands of tractors. Yanmar will want some info so, try to get the others part number for the filter to give to Yanmar. Yanmar will then ck their price against the other and if they find that yes their price is substantially higher they will lower their price to be competitive with the other manfu. If you believe that other parts are high compared to other manfu. then you can always ask them to ck. their prices. They try to keep up with prices as other manfu do but like the others some don't get changed until a customer/dealer complain.

Update, got the Baldwin in today, it is a direct fit, better than the other option.
