Thanks for all the replies . Correction on model I have a ym 2210 2wd 26hp diesel. I'm not sure what the rating is ,I'm going to try to get in touch with a yanmar dealer in my area to find out. The distance between the top link and bottom hitch points is Right at 20inches vertical and has another hitch point 2 1/2 inches below the top one, there's 20 1/2 inches horizontally . All I really need is 400lb, 2-3 ft of lift at at the end of the 6-8 long pole. And I do not have a hydraulic top link. From what I have read some say it's rated at 1500 lb others say 700 lb. I know that I'll have to add weight on the front end.

20" sure don't sound right. Don't measure from the toplink on the tractor back to the ball ends.
Measure from the toplink points in the tractor straight down.
Most implements have around a 18" vertical spacing IIRC. That would put your toplink going downhill towards the implement in relation to the lower arms. In reality it needs to be a little uphill.
If the toplink runs parallel with the lower arms, and near the Sam length, the boompole will raise level. A little upward angle on the toplink makes the tip of the pole raise at a faster rate than the hitch. Downward as you describe would be the opposite effect. IE: if you had a bushhog hooked up and level on the ground, when you raise it up the front would be higher than the rear.

Try tractordata for lift specs on your model tractor. For instance the Country Line boom pole says 1000# at the closest to the 3PH, and 500# at the loop at the pole's end. Note as LD1 said the rise in the pole's boom to achieve worthwhile lifting height.

Here's a Boom pole i bought that someone had made at home it's alot stronger then any on the market they used 4" in 1/4 thick weld casing. It picked up my disc on the end loop with ease. best $75 i ever spent plus paint and decals lol

Thats only half the information needed. What is the distance from the ground up to where the lower arms pivot on the tractor side? Are you saying thats only in the 10" range to give the 20" distance between you mentioned earlier? Dont seem right to me.
