Anyone have any reviews on any of the 3pt Log Splitter. I am looking to get rid of my gasser just to save maintenance time on another engine... Was interested in the TSC but not the greatest reviews on the stands. Any other options any one likes? Thanks.

The Northern Powerhorse (China) splitter is the same price and doesn't include a stand. I think the stand will make it a lot easier to hook up. The Speeco seems like a better value.

If it was me I would keep the gasser.
Replace the engine for $99 at Harbor Freight if you have to. I have a 3-point splitter because it was cheaper ($400 on sale at Northern at the time). I would rather have a stand-alone and it's hard to beat the cycle time of a 2-stage pump.

Mine is simple like this one but with the wedge fixed. Later I added a regen valve. Log Splitter, Tractor 3 Point Log Splitter, | Agri Supply, 68828
Agri-supply will probably not be cheaper by the time it is shipped.

Lot's of info here about 3 point verses stand alone. If you plan on running a splitter off your tractor hydraulics, keep in mind that your tractor probably only has about 8 GPM flow (with the engine at 2600 RPM) and a max pressure of maybe 2500 psi so a tractor powered splitter will be slower and probably have less power than a stand alone.

I have a light weight Kelly splitter that I picked up used. It works fine for the 1 or maybe 2 face cords I splitter per year. Kelley Manufacturing Corporation

OK, here's my mini review... I have a Timber Wolf TW3HD and I looked at a LOT of splitters before buying it... NO it's not a cheapo splitter, but it's SUPER strong and extremely well built right here in the USA.

This splitter is very fast, even with a smaller tractor, because it has a pto powered hydraulic pump, it's the only way to get any ram speed with a smaller tractor. I like the way, being on a tractor, it's "self propelled" too... That way I can drive right over to my wagon load of wood,

and it has pushed everything I've rolled on the beam, right off the wagon and through the 4-way wedge it goes!

Stringy wood, crotches, oak or anything else,

goes right through it!

And the best part is, even my wife loves to run it!

I like to buy good tools, and as far as I'm concerned, this is the best 3 point splitter made!

I chose a Wallenstein model that splits horizontally and vertically. It is about the easiest thing to hook-up that i own and it hasn't failed to split a log yet. I believe it is made in Canada.
