Yep, that's it Bird. I think it's interesting how using R4 tires sort of throws a wrench into some fairly standard issues. It seems to be more of an issue with Kubotas, I think, because they have a pretty long wheel base for their overall length vs. JD for example. When I was shopping for the tractor I remember one dealer claimed that the R4's were so popular because people just liked the BIG, beefy look! I agree that they DO look good but I knew by choosing them that it was a compromise for my situation. If the R1's wouldn't tear up a lawn so much I would've opted for them.

...those R3's & R4's are much lower profile and wider footprint/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

The rules change and more fiddling involved with those style tires...especially with rear mounted backhoes...

Great information and diagrams. Printed it off and promptly ran out to the garage to confirm on my B2410 (cat 1). Pin diameters are as advertised but I was confused by lift arm spacing. When I adjust the turnbuckles on the check chains I can spread lower lift arms to >33" (inside measurement). What am I doing wrong? This is important to me since I had planned to confirm order for 30" rear scoop with local dealer tomorrow. Should I be ordering the narrower 24" rear scoop instead?

Lyle,

You adjust your check chains/anti-sway chains after you mount the implement...

These are used as advertised...to prevent the implement from swinging/swaying side to side {ex.into the sides of your tires} Especially used during transport of the implement. This is why they are normally adjusted with the 3-Point hitch in the raised/transport position.

<font color=red>If the check chains are too tight in the "lowered position" and you then raise the 3-Point hitch... you could break or damage something.</font color=red> So always watch the 3-Point hitch and implement when you are raising/lowering it, watch your clearances and to prevent any problems.

If you adjust them first...to where you think they should be, then you may not be able to move your lift arms into position and unable to "hook up" the implement because of being too tight...

The Cat I - 26" is the width of the lift pins on your implement... it has nothing to do with the size/width of your implement. ex. Cat I - 7' Rear Blade is 7 feet wide, but the lift pins are only 26" wide...Ok /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Lyle, you might double check with your dealer that the 30" scoop is Cat 1. If so, it'll work. It may be that the pins point inward on the 30" model to fit the Cat 1 (I think I recall seeing this on a scoop that my in laws had). Could also be that the scoop bucket is wider than the frame, but from what I've seen of scoops that isn't likely as it wouldn't be able to dump. Hope this helps /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Three-Point Free-Link Attachment for Hitching Implements to Agricultural Wheel Tractors

1 Scope
1.1 This Standard sets forth requirements for the attachment of three-point hitch implements or equipment to the rear of agricultural wheel tractors by means of a three-point free-link in association with a power lift.
1.2 In order to assure proper performance of certain implements, standard dimensions for mast height, mast pitch adjustment and implement leveling adjustment are included. Location of link-attachment points is not restricted and is, therefore, left to the discretion of the tractor designer.
1.3 If draft links are used for trailing power take-off implements, a means shall be included for locking the draft links in a fixed position, and a drawbar hitch point shall be positioned in conformance with power take-off standards.
1.4 Dimensions comprising the standard specifications are divided into 4 categories:
