Anybody built a tiller here? I am just playing with the idea, not sure what and how yet - but it should not be that difficult.

I did a extensive rebuild on a Iseki 58". I completely stripped all 3 pt lugs and fabricated new longer ones as they were too short for the JM354 Jinma creating too steep of PTO drive shaft angle. I built a new tiller shaft for King Kutter style blades. This was the style with flanges instead of the little retangle tube mounts. I reinforce the whole tiller drive tube with one half inch steel plate when I did the 3pt mounts. I also made a new PTO drive shaft and added a slip clutch. With the labor; steel; new blades; slip clutch and PTO drive shaft parts I should have added about $200 more and went a bought a brand new gear driven unit. It's a good solid unit now, but one heck of a lot of work. bjr

Lots of specialized parts, like tines (crazy bends and must match), high torque gearbox, etc.

Most would buy these parts and fabricate the rest. Problem is, these are the $$ parts.

You might be able to save a little $ if you had some of the parts around, say a couple of junked walk behind tillers and put all the tine assemblies on a shaft...

Just my .02
