Does anyone have an interest in an actuator that can run on 12vdc and provide top link adjustment? No hydraulics

I'll bite. Sure, I'm interested. What do you have?

I've considered it and even found some online (linear actuator). Seemed to handle the lifting load for a couple hundred bux but was concerned with impact load like when snaging rocks with a box scraper ...

I wonder if an electric linear actuator could withstand the forces of tension and compression that the top link might see.

The ones I've seen look way too light duty and they tend to have a short lifespan.

It just seems like the wrong tool for the job.

Sorry I was out yesterday and attachments seemed to be broken when I checked. Here is a link I was looking at:

Just a thought. This would simply let you adjust tilt with no load. I mean you could have an attachment on but not engaged in the ground.

Thoughts???

What about price? I have a Bobcat snowblower that uses a linear actuator for the chute deflector. Unfortunatly it was busted when I bought it. Cost new from the manufacturer is >$600. I have seen a bunch on ebay go for a lot less, but you have to watch out for the specs.

have seen some car jacks for flats that plug into the cig lighter. motor runs scissor jack. the jack would take the beating the 3 pt. would dish out so a hefty jack could be adapted to to take a fairly light motor. the mech advantage would put little strain on the motor. thoughts?

Some jacks built as jacks and not actuators are strong in only one direction. For example, trailer tongue jacks have bearings and support for compression and not tension. Top links need strength both ways.

Something more to think about when planning.
