Yeah, won't be long now.
The granite guys was behind and didn't get the counter tops installed like he was supposed to. So we missed that to. On the other hand, when we go up in 2 weeks, everything should be done except the punch list.
It was great to see all the different lights inside and out, fans and air conditioning all working off our little solar power shed.

Wanna know why we are waiting 2 weeks? My ex is getting remarried and we are attending. As you all know, we are great friends still and spend a lot of time together both at my home and at hers. She and Loretta get along great and so do I with her new husband. One thing though, her first ex (whom we also get along with) is also going to be there.
So the two of us will give her away to her new husband.
We are going to give him a buck for taking her off our hands though.

Here some more pictures of the bathrooms.
That first one is of the sink and log stand near the foyer. It still needs to be caulked and finished. The others are of the master bath and shower and the vanity lights we choose for all the bathrooms.
I wish the counter tops were installed, but we'll see them next time up.
After that, the final flooring will be installed. Hardwood floors (Burmese Rosewood) throughout except the bedrooms which will have carpet.

One other thing we did last weekend was to clear out more of the brush, grass and tree trunks around the homesite. We got a notice from the fire department about it and they (the builder) need that stuff cleared to pass final inspection. We had everything cut and mowed before but haven't had time to install the irrigation to all those areas to keep them green. So we had to clear again.

These are a bunch of photos of Loretta and I working together ... she on her tractor and me on mine. It was great fun so I took a couple photos. Boy, we sure got a lot of logs and debris moved with the grapples, landscape rake and boxblade. It would've taken forever to do it by hand. Some stuff for sure we couldn't move.
These below are of my tractor working.

Then I turned around to see what Loretta was up too and I was quite surprised as to what she was getting done with her 284 Jinma! The one of me surprised was taken by a game camera we had near the solar panels.

We also had a visitor in the form of a hen Turkey come strolling in our camp meadow. She's been through this spot several times, at least I think it's the same turkey? She was by herself but I'll bet next season she'll have a Tom with her.

Great pics, Rob...

The log home is amazing... but to be honest, I'm more impressed by the ear-to-ear grin on Loretta's face using her new grapple on the Jinma...

I'd be willing to guess it would be much easier to find a similar log home (though yours is ABSOLUTELY unique) than it would be to find another picture of a lady enjoying a tractor as much... ;) :D

Rob, maybe I missed it somewhere...but can you post a few photos of the views out of the windows? You get a glimpse of it in one of those fan photos, but I want more! ;)
Hi Tony, thanks for looking.
I'll find a few of those photos and maybe of ones from the deck if that's OK...
They will be from different times, mostly because those windows were still covered with plastic until recently.

Hey Kent,
Boy, are you ever right, and thanks for noticing that.:)
I know our log home is sweet, but you hit the nail on the head with Loretta being so happy about her little Jinma and her new grapple and toothbar. Man, she really worked it hard this weekend. After we grappled as many logs and big stuff, I didn't even have to tell her to back up those slopes so she could rake/drag the rest of it down where I could get to it.
She even said she was tired at the end of the day!:D

One nice thing about you sharing your home construction project with us is that now you ahve a record saved on TBN. Probably all fo us have had hard drive crashes and have lost pics. Thsi way your pics are over here on the TBN server, and I am sure they must have backup systems so you will always have a perment record of your complete building project.

Hahaha, well don't blame me, Tony asked for it and God did the rest. I just took the pictures...:)
Loretta's rake? Dang, I'm working on it! Just have all this moving stuff I got to do first.

Rob,

Great pics. I showed some of them to Steph so she could see how the colors change there, and she couldn't believe it. She's a Texan, and is used to everything being green and lush from spring to fall, and just doesn't comprehend that it's the other way around in some places.

The house is amazing. It just keeps getting better and better. Your vision is beyond anything that I could have come up with!!!!

Eddie
