Ha,
My camera is at 3R and the FlowBee is at Rancho.
Maybe Dave or Brian could post a photo of theirs? They are a very cool apparatus.

All I can say is wow, I read alot of this thread today, you could make this thing into a novel. Rob, you have alot to be proud of, that was quite a project, and like many projects, is on going.

dodge man,
Thank you! A lot of hard work and $$$ too, but man, is it ever worth it. It's a good place to live out the rest of my life. It's raining up here right now and it's so peaceful, I just can't believe it.
Glad you enjoyed the story...

Rob, I must have missed it, but what is your roof? How does price compare with architectural shingles? How about the installation? Thanks, Brian

Hi Brain, thanks for the question.
Going back to post #314 and then #345 and then subsequent posts, I describe (with lots of photos) the roof construction. It is a metal roof which turned out in my area to be less costly than shingles. The roof preparation was part of the log building, so it would have been done regardless of metal or shingle roof.
They started by putting 3/4" plywood over the framing. Then lined with 30# felt. Then they put 2 x 12's on top of that and stuffed it with 1 foot of insulation. Over that they put on another layer of 3/4" plywood to seal the insulation in and another layer of 30# felt on top of the plywood. Then they installed the metal roof over all that. If you look at the pictures in those previous posts, you can see how they did it. Then in later posts I showed some close up pictures of all the vent holes and screening they did so it could breathe.
It turned out terrific by the way. We've had several rainstorms and it's pretty quite. You can't hear the rain on the main floor, only water dripping on the decks if there's a window open. But if you go upstairs, you can hear it on the roof, but it so well insulated, you have to be very quite and listen for it. It's much quieter than my stick home in town. Go back to those posts and skim through the rest of them to see the pictures, I'm sure it will be of interest to you. There are some more recent photos from a different view point which show the roof from the top.
