3X20 Series, kinda of a letdown/relief!

It sounds like the 3720 is coming out with the other new 3X20 models. At first I thought that model was going to be introduced in a few months.

Wondering if there might be a factory cab announcement. I had thoughts a cab model might be announced with the 3X20 series like seen on the UK WEB site? On the build your own JD pages it does have an operator station category with open station as the only option right now. With such a category it makes one think a cab option might be listed down the road.

Good point. The diff lock has to be swapped as well as the brake pedals on the HST models.

RE CABS:
The latest I heard from JD people was they hope to introduce something by fall of this year. They introduce a lot of new equipment at their fall training down in Fl. Hopefully, this is true, or maybe we can even get them sooner! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Re: Cabs

Wonder if you will be able to add the cab when released or you have to buy the CUT that way? Be nice to know in case your interested in the factory cab and would like to buy a 3X20 now.

Cabs.

I wonder why Deere does push a cab option on their CUTs?

At the Louisville show Case IH, Kubota, and Kioti all had cabbed CUTs. At the show Mrs. Tractors4u was heard saying, "if you had a cab you would never get off that tractor!"

You know what? She is right.

My thoughts would be a factory installed option only, fully equipped with heat/ac etc. There are several nice aftermarket cabs available now, and to be honest, I bet some will be competetive with the factory ones. Laurin's Eclipse and JoDale Perry's Boxer cabs are very nice, and some come with a/c now also, but for a price.
I think the factory cab on a 5000 tractor is over an 8K option.. can the compact tractor cabs be much less expensive? time will tell!

I rented a 4310, and it is a nice piece. A little underpowered, but very nice. The key advantages I see with the 20's is:

Larger fuel tank (13.5 gallons) This is nice considering what a PITA it is to "can" fill a center mounted tank.

More power (44HP!) from turbo (3520 and 3720) and intercooler (3720

Better visibility from curved hood

As for tire size, that is same, BUT there are 2 sizes of R4's available. I went with the larger ones which are about 10% larger at 43x16-20, and 27x8.5-15 because I wanted something in between the 4000-20 and 3000-20 and this 10% bump in tire size got me there.

As for cabs, the Jodale Perry www.jodaleperry.com looks like a VERY nice unit. The 4000-20 unit is about ready, and uses Power Beyond to run the AC via a hydraulic motor.

I looked at the 4000-20's, and aside from being too big, the departure from Yanmar, and utilization of Stanadyne for the fuel system turned me off. Not only do they smoke hard at initial start up (like most all compact diesels do) the Deere/Stanadyne systems rev up really hard instantly but briefly...

Any info on Laurin's Eclipse would be appreciated.

That is an apples and oranges comparison. You left out the 3120 and 3320. I could also say that my 4310 is weak compared to the 4120.

I looked and the 3320 has 300lbs on my 4310. That I would like. TO me that equates to a little bit more ballast for the loader.

The larger fuel tank is probably required to give the same runtime as the non-turbocharged 4000Ten Series.
