Anybody else have a problem with the linear shift lever too close jamming your left knee? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Seems like there should be more of a bend in it towards the fender.

In the beginning I knocked it out of gear a couple of times with my knee, but after 85 hrs I am now use to it being there, not a problem now.

Ron, I should have noted that in mid range its not a problem but in high range and especially low range its right under my knee (seat all the way back).
I was thinking of taking the lever off and giving it a slight bend to the outside some.
Any idea how the lever disconnects?
Would this void warranty for any reason?

Before you follow any suggestions I give, you should know
1) I'm not a mechanic
2) I'm a first time tractor owner with 85 hrs of tractor experience
I looked at my machine and I did not see any thread where it goes into transmission, I personally would not remove it. if it absolutely must be done I would block it under the fender and bend- with my 4110 there might be 1 1/2" between the shifter and the fender when its in Mid Range. bend it any further and you might not get it into mid range after the bend. My best advice- leave it alone or get your Dealer involved.

Ron.

Thanks for the input Ron.
Im not going to try anything right now. I'll wait till I get back to the dealer and check some other 4110's out to see if other ones are that close. If not I'll ask the dealer what he thinks.

How did you make out with the Dealer- was he able to adjust the linear shift lever

I have'nt been there yet, waiting for a wider backhoe bucket to come in and ask him then.
Need to get a oil filter also for 50 hour service, about 30 hours to go!

Not on the 4110, but yes on the 3510. Pretty much the same machine. I have bumped it out of low a few times and have considered bending it back and to the left a bit.

Of maybe put some highway pegs on the frame and ride it like a chopper /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
