As requested I am posting photos of my old Jacobson dump "thing" I've restored the front half but the rear half has not gotten any attention yet. This is a 2 speed + reverse front trans-axle with a variable speed belt drive. Hydraulic drum brakes on the front. A drive shaft extends to the rear.

Back to the thread, I have ruled out the 422 and will have to gathewr up more funds and wait to bget the 425. I may even wait long enough to get a red one. Thanks again for all the input.

One further comment on the 425. Scott (I believe it was Scott) told me that some commercial outfits would buy a 422 and after a couple of years would get tired of the wheel motor torque limitations and then trade up to the 425. Just Scott's 2 cents worth.

Love the Truck Thing!!...surprised that being in western PA. you didn't change the color scheme to black & gold!

That Jacobson is awsome! Couple that thing with a PT and a you can move mountains.

I never thought of doing it in black & gold at the time. Maybe a repaint is in order, at the very least it will have a steeler sticker on it somewhere. I've really just recently got this thing operating fairly well & it is a gas! That is my plan, to use it in conjunction with a PT.

Wait and see which PT you get, Green / Red then repaint to match. :>) Very cool machine you have there.

Thanks. I just got a chance to look at them. Very cool piece of equipment. Never saw one before.:)

Do they still make this articulating truck, I tried to find more information about them on the internet but couldn't find anything that is a nice looking truck i'd say it is lot of fun to run and is very useful. On your original post I hope my reply never caused you to not buy a 422 . I tried out the 422 and it is a capable enough machine to do a good job. The ease of servicing my 425 is on a design that I don't beleive they use now, mine has a metal tank built into the hood and that is what makes the engine tub more open.

Toy; I don't think they have made this thing for years. It has to be old as the master cylinder crossed to a mid fifties chevy truck. I haven't been able to find any info for this machine anywhere. There are no ID plates on it other than the transaxle has a manuf. name plate, I believe it is Haxco. I know of one other, that is owned by a church camp & I was told it was donated to them. A reletive who sells Stiener machines was trying to repair it for them, but I haven't seen it.
My reasons for rulling out the 422 have been stated and revolve around the lower rated motors, lack of standard rops, lift height, etc.
