4300 hst v 3010 hst

I talked to my JD dealer friday concerning the diesel running backwards on the 4700 HST. It's the first he has herd of it.
They have numerous 4700 HST's in the field. This was a concern for me. I'll be taking a delivery of one this week.

That is only for new vehicles purchased and will not be retroactive to vehicles already on the road. It's just like the catalytic converters and other smog equipment on new cars that wasn't on the old ones. It will be standard equipment on new ones but it will not be retroactive to vehicles already on the road.

Richard, I believe the article from a local CA paper mentioned that all vehicles regardless of age will be required. You must remember however I am speaking from a CA. perspective and it could very well be that no soot traps will required in other states. California tends to be a bit eccentric about things and I must say , I can entirely believe that here in CA, we will have them on everything that burns oil including barbeques and frying pans. I have to admit that after watching the John Deere video, I was quite impressed with their 400 series. To be honest, I was not concidering a John Deere at all. It really has come down to either a Kubota 4610 or JD 4700. The backwards running issue does not concern me. I like both and could argue a little bit for both, but in the end I believe the cost will determine my choice as much as anything. Rat....

Back to the comfort/roominess issue, last weekend I visited both a D and K dealer and out of curiosity I sat on a 4300 and a 3010. There is definitely more leg room on the 4300.
